CAMBRIDGE, Ont. -- Jayne Gunn, recruiting supervisor for Challenger Motor Freight, has become the first Canadian woman elected to the executive board of Women In Trucking (WIT), a group that finds opportunities to promote the accomplishments of women in the industry.

“I am honoured to have been elected to work with WIT and represent the organization on this side of the border. The number of women entering the transportation industry is continuously increasing and we need a platform in which we can be heard,” said Gunn after her appointment.

WIT plans to eventually hold its own convention and to also honour industry employers who have proven to be female-friendly in their hiring and retention practices.
