Where is Mike? Where is he going? Don't ask him, he's probably lost.

Then they wasn’t experienced back then. Them mother ****ers shut down I ****ing 80 so them **** sucking blades can get on and off at the 284 in Walcott. Maybe it’s an Iowa thing 🤷🏻‍♂️
I was going to comment that I-80 is a different animal than Memphis , but then I realized maybe not. I mean the track suit and black socks with slide crowd is kind of equivalent to the guys with two first names and an Echo box , am I right.?

Had just as good luck finding service for the Volvo as I did for the Freightliner

Power between them has been comfortable. And the Volvo now that I've got the air induction leak figured out is giving me much better fuel mileage than the Detroit did.
How bad are your trucks that you need to fix them on the road

I don't care to fix them at home. It's my downtime and time to go fishing/camping.

I park the truck and focus on what's important. Family for 12 days.

When I'm in the truck for up to 18 days, that's when I focus on work stuff.

Last week's day in the shop gave me a chance to get to know the ground I'm planning on elk hunting in next year in Idaho. I didn't have to take time off from work or my family time. Because I got to do both at once.

A good dealer service network means my "local community" just became less constricted to specific locations.

Sometimes, it's not about service, it's about a reliable source of parts. Being able to know I am in Newburn ID and they can tell me I can stop in Dickinson ND to get the part I need is invaluable.

😒 not all of them are dumb asses
I needed an oil change

With my own two eyes I watched this “technician” get my truck stuck in a pothole in a paved parking lot

Lock the power divider? Back up and try again? Try a different gear? Get another truck to pull you out?

Nope

**** around like a douche canoe and then mash the fuel to the floor so when it pops out of the pothole you leave ten feet of rubber in the parking lot

No, they aren’t all like that. But if they won’t let you in the work area what else are they hiding?

You let an idjit drive yer truck? That takes a special kind of stupid.

Anywhere I've had an oil change on the road, I drove into the bay, and then I keep an eye on them to make sure they don't **** up.

It’s not about hiding something it’s called OSHA regulation and insurance compliance.

I don’t disagree that. However I have seen major highways closed because of super loads got hung up for an hour and clock busted one late afternoon because of one. They had to set down steel plates over the concrete let the load cross then pick them all up. It was ridiculous.

Yes I had the bridge back in to Buffalo completely shut down for me but that was the bridges doing. Hwy Dept came out and shut it down. My example in Memphis was just " here driver, get this done on your own".

Knowing how much Bridges bounce anyways I'm not sure I want to find out how much one would bounce with a super load on it
Had an old hopper guy that ran fields and feed lots tell me. You can cross a light bridge if you do it right. Just gotta go slow so the bridge don’t jump off the supports. I was like 19 he took me out for a ride. We crossed a 12 ton wooden bridge with 85k of truck trailer and grain.i was scared ****less. He laughed and said I been to this feed lot a million times, just go slow and it’s fine.

Today. Driving myself, that’s not a risk I would take.
