SEYMOUR — Almost a week after the Planning and Zoning Commission slammed the brakes on allowing a truck driving school to move into a residential neighborhood, the owner’s attorney said Tuesday that his client will appeal the decision.

Attorney Dominick Thomas, representing All-State Commercial Truck Driving School, located on Constitution Boulevard in Shelton, said the appeal will be filed 15 days after the PZC’s decision is published.

Thomas said the school owner, Vincent Mairano, had always anticipated appealing the decision, and after reviewing the issue with Thomas over the last few days, decided to make it official.

"I believe we have complied with the requirements of the special exception and we believe all of our evidence addressed the issues, and was more than sufficient for them to have granted it," Thomas said. "Other evidence (from the opposing side) was just generic and not relevant to the issues at hand."
