Procter & Gamble Co., the maker of Bounty paper towels, Crest toothpaste and Pampers diapers, says the cost of trucking its goods is still on the rise. Whether that leads to more price increases for U.S. consumers on top of last year’s remains to be seen.

P&G Chief Executive Jon Moeller, speaking at the Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference on Boca, Raton, Fla, said trucking costs are currently about 25% higher than a year ago. This is putting pressure on P&G’s margins, and the company is focused on productivity improvements to offset the costs, spokesman Damon Jones said.
