I really think Guns-n-Roses peaked at Use Your Illusion II.

It’s also what made the cracks in the foundation bigger. Axl’s ego was really on full display. He forced the weepy ballad type stuff while the rest of the band still just wanted to be crazy rock and rollers.

Many of the songs were way too long for radio so most of the good ones on this album are unknown unless you got this album.

The end of Estranged really displays Axl pushing the issue. The last two or three minutes of this song felt like they were just tacked on and he didn’t know when to quit.

But his piano skills are awesome, and the rest of the band did great too.
