Federal officials completed a compliance review of a Hanover trucking company and deemed it satisfactory, but they are still investigating a fatal crash in Rhode Island that involved a L&H Trucking driver.

The trucking company came to the attention of the federal government after a driver from L&H was involved in a fatal crash in Rhode Island in February.

On Feb. 6, Raymond Green Jr., 59, of Gettysburg, was driving an L&H-owned truck loaded with scrap aluminum on southbound Interstate 95, in Providence, R.I., when another car cut him off, according to Rhode Island State Police. He lost control and the truck rolled on its side, crushing a Mercury Sable in the next lane and killing the car's driver – Joyce St. Laurent, of Fall River, Mass.

Police didn't file charges against Green, but said last month that a logbook violation indicated he had been driving longer than allowed by law. They turned the investigation over to the federal agency, which began looking into the company.

Shashunga Clayton, spokeswoman for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, said investigators there completed a compliance review of L&H Trucking in March and "found them to be satisfactory."
However, investigators are still looking at the evidence gathered during the review to see if the company violated any federal regulations.
