I might have been 13 when I saw the ruse of everyone sacrificing until it hurt except the preacher.

Stopped going as soon as I was old enough to not be forced.
if i recall, the church was demanding that we gace (i think) 1/3 of our weekly pay for the collection plate..

i seem to VIVIDLY recall my late dad saying, "those bastards get what I CAN AFFORD to give them, not a penny more"

so when i would go to church by myself, he'd give me a quarter in the collection envelope to hand them ONE TIME, god, those bastards passed that collection plate something like 4 times during a ceremony.....

but i only had that one envelope..

in later years, mom and dad tried to get me into a catholic school.....

priest downright told my folks, (paraphrasing it here....)

"well, i can see that you did not put enough money into the collection plates...."

dad, mom stormed out, nearly pulling my arm out of it's socket....

screw'em......i can honestly say, the catholic religion is among the BIGGEST bunch of hypocrites on the face of this earth....

If you don't even know what parts of your religion are from the Bible and what was totally made up by some church leaders somewhere along the way, maybe it's time to ask yourself if it's a religion or a cult you belong to.
it's been like what, nearly 7 decades since i been in any church or read any bible, or other religious books?

i know some were stories of course. but that's all i can recall right now.

dad and i would sit way in the back of the church, and the PA system never really worked all that well, so i cannot recall much of what the priests were saying or griping about.

all i can admit to, is that it has been "nearly" 7 decades since i been to any church or temple (half Jewish/half catholic)...and then of course, at what age, did i (or my folks) stop going to church or saying that i had to go..???

was i 1 year old, 5 years old, 15 years old...????

at what age did my parents try to get me into catholic school...??

kindergarten..???.....2nd grade.....???.........5th grade..????

at what age would i have been allowed to walk by myself to the church, 5 blocks away..???

5 years old...?? 8 years old...????

one can be OLD and not show it, like Mic Jagger who looks like he's a 1,000 years old, or Keith Richards, who is actually dead and decaying.....

i have been told (and my new passport pic shows it)........i don't look "that old"..........

Define “sin”....
Well looky here? Look what I stumbled upon while trolling:) older threads.

Ahh religion and politics, in a Truckers forum no less. You gotta love this.

Actually your question is quite simple. And guess where it can be found.

So in case your really wondering, in case you are really struggling for an
answer, just in case it really will make any difference to you, if by chance
no one pm'd you the answer and there are others wondering the same.......

1 John 1:4:

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

But you then ask what law. I've got you. How does the 10 commandment law sound.
BTW all 10 of them can be found here....

Exodus 20: 3-17

bless you

geez, where does a priest even come up with money for a home that pricey..??

also, according to my religion (catholic), it's against the bible (or church by-laws) to commit suicide....he'll go to hell now.

You don’t think fondling kids bought him that ticket first?

Um what happened to "innocent until proven guilty?"

And for that matter, "May he who is without sin cast the first stone."

The OP's article states that he had been "accused" of doing something. Well hell I've been ACCUSED of doing something too (it had nothing to do with touching kids, it was for mail fraud) even did 2 months in jail for it because I had no bail money only to have the charges dropped for "lack of evidence."

Being accused does not equal being guilty so an innocent man was murdered and people are rejoicing.

Hope you're in good with God, that's all I'm going to say.
