DEF problems?? Good article

For those that would prefer to avoid issues with DEF. I recommend a small nitrile (rubber) Glove over the cap and neck. Replace after every fill up and no one says you can’t squirt a bit of DEF into a trash can to clean the nozzle!

I am lost in the world of DEF, but wouldn't it make sense to have some sort of filter that is replaced as maintenance within the system to keep junk from contaminating things?

Or is it already there?

asking for a friend ;)

Great question Mike, There is a filter in the system, however as it mentions in the article this issue comes from a chemical reaction with DEF and metals (minerals) these same minerals are also found in the same stuff we use for ice control (sodium chloride)
Keeping a glove over that cap keeps the trash from falling into the tank and reacting with the DEF. Hope that helps your friend 👍
