Action taken by California Gov. Gavin Newsom will result in a fuel tax revenue diversion, with billions of dollars touted to benefit roads and bridges instead to be routed for other purposes.

The Democratic governor has issued an executive order to use $5 billion of revenue raised via a recent fuel tax increase for a program to reduce greenhouse gases and emissions.

“California has ambitious and essential climate goals to transition to a healthier, more sustainable and more inclusive economy, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions 40% below 1990 levels by 2030,” Newsom wrote in his order.

Specifically, Newsom’s executive order directs a fuel tax revenue diversion away from local highways to benefit rail and other projects.

IMA KEEP IT REDNECK
Because they already charge you $25 each time you cross a bridge near the Bay Area. But we can’t be bothered to pay for fixing road when we need to get emissions (which are at an all time low) even lower. Seriously, wtf is so wrong with the state of Commiefornia?

It's what happens when the mentally ill are deliberately herded into voting booths.
The Land of Fruits an' Nuts. If they barred the mentally ill from voting, only th' criminal politicians would be left to stuff th' ballot boxes...

Yeah. And the sane people would overwhelmingly defeat them.

This governor is just nuts. I can’t wait to see what the new worker classification law does to the ports beginning next year. They could end up permanently losing much of that business

He has yet to exceed the level of lunacy of the previous governor though. Old Moonbeam, who was once good friends with Jim Jones.

Not so sure. This guy is quickly enacting laws that are going to be very destructive to the state.

Moonbeam made it almost legal to purposely infect people with AIDS. It used to be a felony, now it's just a misdemeanor like jaywalking.
