Playgrounds should have stuff like that now.
Them early steel massive swings were awesome...I swear I was gonna loop it but never did...If a kid got in the way, he was toast, youd be goin 90mph with your feet out, end up with two broken feet, the kid who ran out in front of ended up with two holes kicked in his chest, requiring a helecopter...
I used to climb on stuff like that in the 80's.
I would make my kids BUILD this for me to play on.
Our policy was that if you can't see bone or blood, stop whining.
If it still hurts in the morning we'll have a look.
That's about as dangerous as it gets.No way would I let my kids climb on top like these kids are doing.I can't believe they would even have such a thing on a play ground.
Yep I can remember trying
Would you let your kids play on this?
back when i was a kid, we had no real playgrounds.
we'd play "survival" by throwing rocks at any T-Rex or other dinosaurs and try to outrun them.
my friends Oggy and Nipshyte, got eaten by a saber tooth tiger.
we learned fast, not to play with the animals anymore.......
Monkey Bars and the tether ball was the big things in my day
My youngest, 8, is bringing home ribbons from her competitive gymnastics workouts every week for things like the vault, and the bars.
I imagine 90% of parents wouldn't let their kids do this either.
That's awesum she's doing so well in gymnastics.Shell be the next Olympics champion, lol.
Kids used to climb trees too. I used to climb 60 feet up a cedar tree then turn upside down and walk down on my hands. What's the worst? As far as that equipment is concerned. Those monkey bars aren't tall so much as kids were smaller and malnourished back then.
