I start orientation soon and was wondering if is true that if you live in Texas there are plenty of loads going in and out of Texas. Telling me that I can be home weekly or every other week. Any info on this?

There are plenty of loads coming in and out of Texas and Texas is pretty big (not that big but pretty big):D

I am not sure about the operation that you are starting work for but it is also completely possible to just run intrastate Given the size and population of Texas.

Are you able to pick your own loads or are they dispatched?

All depends on who you are working for. Some places have no-forced dispatch and allow you to pick from a list of available loads and others, You go where they send you.

With ATS do they have dispatch or a load board to pick from.

Are you leasing or a company driver?

Have to wait for @Sinister but I think they just dispatch you. Hometime is the biggest gripe I heard that kept me from signing on.

Buddy of mine is leased to them out of st cloud mn.

He's typically given a choice of like three loads and he goes from there.

Spends a lot of time going to Canada so have your passport ready.

    He's not home much either.
