i have never showered at the Loves. They have some antiquated shower key system.
I used to use the Flying Pilot or the T/A.
Cleanliness will vary from location to location.
Id rather have the key....those elecric locks often dont work especially at Ta & Petro..

And whe ya chase em down to open the door with key they always INSIST on taking the slip and trying it before they key it

Duh I tried that 5 times already or I wouldnt have bothered to chased ya down for your key

I prefer Loves right now as a company driver. Highest amounts of rewards points if you can reliably fuel there, hit platnium and get 2 showers and 2 refills of drinks a day... so one poop in peace instead of next to habibs nuclear curry aftermath in the next stall, then fighting the teeth brushing and hair washing chuckletards to wash my hands and soul of the truck stop memories my eyes will never let me forget... plus the points mean free lunch every day or so, since they have chains I actually like.

TAs and petros are only good for an iron skillet and usually quick repairs, plus easy parking since they tend to have the largest lots out of them all.

J and peelot have a decent hot deli with some salads, I dig a special sauce so I bring along my own magic dressing for the leafy greens.

Small mompops I have perused and been pleased at...
Gee Cees in Toledo WA. Good diner at all hours. Cheap showers if you didnt fuel. Sasquatch for a mascot, which is always a plus in my book.
Eddies in Hines OR, good diner, decent parking space
Gordys in La Pine OR, good diner, lots of parking.

Just keep drivings.....
Pilot in Chemult OR. like 10 spots, rude staff, bad design and access.
Loves in Thousand palms CA. I only brave it to fuel for my points. Place is tiny, always full... spending the night, hit the TA across the 10 or go a block down and get food at all hours in the casino. Casinos got lots of truck parking and like 6 places to eat during the day. 12-6 midnight menu isnt bad, especially when the fast food in the TA aint 24/7.
Weed CA Pilot/j/whatever. Tiny lot, last CA fuel, horrible staff as a rule, and the only way out for all the hotrods grabbing up to 8th in the parking lot is past all the parking.
Tomahawk in Fountain CO. Some people in there apparently live in their 70s travel trailer there and take offense if you park in the last spot available, as they consider it their yard.

49er in Sacramento CA is a maybe. Wash crew and wash prices are decent, diner is ok, need 75 gallons for free parking which while large gets full quick in the evening. Can be a shady place at night, not well lit and sketchy regulars it seems.

Thats the top of my head. @kpzra can add as she maintains my naughty and nice list of places I make note of.

Love's - fuel only for me. They're selection of C-store food items totally sucks IMO. Everything is loaded with sugar, and only drinks without sugar are diet colas and water. PFJ and TA-Petro aren't much better, but they do have some choices.

I'll pull into a PFJ for fuel, since they have the best shower policy out there.

Love's has an unnuetered air hose at almost all of their locations that's kept in repair. PFJ not so much. TA-Petro run theirs through a reducer, so you're lucky to have 100 psi coming out. They want $35 to air up your tires properly.

Wasco OR Pilot i son the no-go list for being a dirty nasty place. I much preferred the casino in Thousand Palm over the truck stops. They run a shuttle from the truck parking to the building even, you just have to call.

Only if you gamble. Not a fan of it myself even though I live in Nevada. It's nothing special or has a draw, I can go to the gas station or grocery store to play a machine.

Sometimes I get lucky...most times I dont..

The trick with gambling is can ya afford to waste it away ..

While ya dont always win If a machine strings me along lets me play for hours rather than sucking up my cash in a dozen spins...

and if my drinks were free I call that about even...

Other places are stingy with free drinks and the machines dont even give ya a reach around and just suck the money quick

I got lucky early in life. I was making some good coin driving truck. The family went to the Casino, I went along to make some quick cash.
sticking money into the slot machines and it was just working out. In about 2-3 hours I had flushed, literally flushed $600.00.
It was not like I won some and lost some, It was like I lost it all.:stare1: No big deal. I was a weekend millionaire at the time:coocoo:
It turned me off the casinos.
I did get my money back a few years later on New Years. I took them for 3 grand. I gave them back $200 and walked away.:)

I still want to go to the track to bet on the thoroughbreds this year. It's the sport of Kings:thumbsup::D

Perhaps a member posted this already, but:

Many casinos I pass have free soda, also some have fast food joints that many truck stops don't have (like panda express, sbarros, etc.) I'm referring to places from Houston to Sacramento and up to Salt Lake or Denver. 'World Casino' in Oklahoma is okay too (park at the rest area and walk a bit to it) Casinos usually have bigger, cleaner bathrooms. Some have deals on meals. Only bad thing is usually far from truck/ rv parking lots. I like Vegas because I can walk to China town where Asian food joints are many.
