The American Trucking Associations' advance seasonally adjusted For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index jumped 3.2 percent in May, the first increase since February.
The rest of the story ain't so rosey.

Our business is booming. Plant operators who were on short time are now back on full time. Loads are shipping faster than I can haul them. It's looking much better. I'll really feel better when they hire a 2nd driver for the other truck.
Even yesterday I was at the tank wash, and, was told that they were beginning to stay a lot more busy than they have been recently. If chemicals are moving, industry, in general, must be doing some better.
