Minnesota Trucker Buys Wisconsin Carrier

J&R Schugel Trucking, New Ulm, Minn., is buying Wisconsin-based Martin Trucking Co., and will make Martin’s facility its fifth terminal, the Tomah (Wis.) Journal reported Sunday.
Martin’s approximately 150 drivers and other employees based in Tomah will become Schugel employees, company President Rick Schugel said, the paper reported.
The agreement was signed last week and the sale is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, the paper said.
Schugel has a fleet of about 650 trucks, which will increase to about 750 with the Martin acquisition, the Journal reported.

Ok, I had a big WTF moment here, LOL. I was wondering how they could pull off buying such a large company, but then I realized the big company spells its name Marten

I thought for a minute that the company with the blue trucks was selling out, that would have set off a major alarm for the state of the industry.
