To Our Elected Representatives,

Professional Drivers still continue to be driven into bankruptcy. Companies still continue to go under. American jobs still continue to be lost. More American families continue to lose their homes. These are realities you, Our Elected Representatives, continue to allow with your in-action.

We have taken our voice to the hill and spoke of the actions we need. We continue to impress upon you, Our Elected Representatives, the actions necessary to protect our way of life. We have given you, Our Elected Representatives, the information, and direction, to accomplish the necessary action we need. Millions of American Citizens continue to speak out, and are demanding action to our country’s crisis. We have seen exactly how fast you, Our Elected Representatives, could get something done to address the current crisis our country faces. In one day you, Our Elected Representatives, introduced…put on the floor for vote…and passed legislation. Instead of using this power to act in the interest of America - you, Our Elected Representatives, instead use this power to accomplish nothing.

During the week of July 21 - July 25, 2008, you, Our Elected Representatives, once again did nothing to help Professional Drivers or American Citizens. You, Our Elected Representatives, have once again allowed another week of suffering. More jobs have been lost, homes have been lost, businesses have gone under due to our current economic crisis, which can be addressed if you, Our Elected Representatives, would just act. Americans continue to endure the economic crisis you, Our Elected Representatives, have put this country in.

During the week of July 21 - July 25, 2008:

You, Our Elected Representatives, have once again violated your oath to the American people. Have you no shame? Our country’s current economic and energy crisis should take precedence over all other matters. You, Our Elected Representatives, have once again refused to act according to the will of the American people. Promises of action and finger pointing are not helping Professional Drivers and American Citizens. You, Our Elected Representatives, are demonstrating to Americans, and the world, your ignorance to act in the best interest of Professional Drivers and American Citizens…resulting in the continued raping of American’s hard earned livelihood.

We have seen the continued attempt by Rep. Westmoreland to get the U.S. House to commit to acting according to the will of the American people - only to be ignored by the majority of our Elected Representatives (no additional representatives have made the commitment this week to America - 192 Reps out of 435 have committed themselves to the American people.) The majority of you, Our Elected Representatives, are literally telling Professional Drivers and American Citizens you don’t care what happens to them, and are going to continue to ignore our demands of action.

You, Our Elected Representatives, continue to talk…but do nothing constructive in the interest of Professional Drivers and American Citizens. You, Our Elected Representatives, have repeatedly stated to Americans you are going to act. When are you, Our Elected Representatives, going to take the steps necessary…the steps demanded by your constituents? Your words have become worthless to Professional Drivers and American Citizens. We have been crying out our demands - and you, Our Elected Representatives, have turned a deaf ear to our cries. You, Our Elected Representatives, stand directly in the path of Professional Drivers and American Citizens being able to do what is necessary to achieve American energy independence.

This administration continues to lie to the American people. You, Our Elected Representatives, continue to do nothing positive for Professional Drivers and American Citizens. You, Our Elected Representatives, talk about what needs to be done…then bicker amongst yourselves and do nothing. You, Our Elected Representatives, stated two weeks ago, you, Our Elected Representatives, were going to act, but have not. You, Our Elected Representatives, refusal to act in the best interest of Professional Drivers and American Citizens - the people you took an oath to serve and protect - are costing Americans trillions of dollars…and you, Our Elected Representatives, do nothing to undo this crisis you have created.

Millions of Americans are speaking out, demanding you, Our Elected Representatives, act according to the will of the American people…whom you, Our Elected Representatives, have taken an oath to serve and protect…only to ignore our demands for action. You, Our Elected Representatives, are preventing America from becoming energy independent…blocking (hording) American energy resources and spending American taxpayer‘s dollars on foreign countries instead of ours. Our President has stepped aside according to our demands - yet you, Our Elected Representatives, continue to allow Professional Drivers and American Citizens to suffer. For what purpose…what agenda? You, Our Elected Representatives, continue to allow Professional Drivers and American Citizens to suffer?

Americans need change and we will get the change we need. We will be speaking out at both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention…impressing upon the inbound Representatives our concerns and needs. You, Our Elected Representatives, are failing to listen to your constituents…the American people. You, Our Elected Representatives, continue to do for other countries, but refuse to act in the best interest of America. We will be heard on November 4th. We will take action into our own hands and remove from office those Elected Representatives refusing to act according to the will of the American people.

We will remind you, Our Elected Representatives, once again, in the words of our founding fathers and demand you, Our Elected Representatives, act according to the will of the American people. --

…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security… (Declaration of Independence)

Once again…
Actions Needed Immediately:

1.) We are now demanding you, Our Elected Representatives, to call for an emergency session to address our country’s crisis. Because you, Our Elected Representatives, have wasted valuable time - addressing issues of no importance to our country’s crisis - we are demanding you, Our Elected Representatives, remain in session until these issues are addressed.

2.) The immediate passing of S.2910 & H.R.5977 (TRUCC) to bring transparency to the trucking industry. To put professional drivers in the position of being able to make proper decisions regarding their business. It is only right that a businessman should be given the right to know he is being fairly paid for his services. Remove the broker’s ability to continue to rob our professional drivers…the backbone of this great country’s economy. Our economy is dependent on professional drivers. Your refusal to bring this legislation to the floor and pass it allows further destruction of our economy’s main aspect…transportation. 91% of our transportation industry is comprised of small business (50 trucks or less,) and your continued refusal to put in place the transparency needed in the trucking industry is forcing our professional drivers into bankruptcy.

3.) The immediate action necessary, as testified by Mr. Greenberger, Mr. Soros, Mr. Ramm and Dr. Cooper, before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation regarding the re-instatement of commodity regulations which existed for 78 years before you, Our Elected Representatives, abandoned/changed those regulations - and as testified by Mr. Gheit, Mr. Diwan, Mr. Masters and Mr. Krapels before the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee regarding oil speculators and the oil futures market…thus leading up to the current economic crisis America faces today. Testimony has been given by intelligent, competent and knowledgeable individuals. Individuals very much aware of the market they speak about.

4.) A commitment to open your doors to more than special interest groups, large corporations and commission representatives…but to professional drivers, and American citizens, with pertinent input to what’s happening to us. A commitment to pursue listening...acting accordingly to the will of the American people. A commitment to become more aware and active with the American people you, Our Elected Representatives, represent. A commitment to understand the realities of what your decisions on the hill does to the American people.

America is standing on the edge of economic collapse and you, Our Elected Representatives, continue to not take the immediate steps, and action, necessary to protect our country. We are in need and you, Our Elected Representatives, are not doing the job we have elected you to do. We will continue to speak out and demonstrate through slow-downs and protests across the nation. As each passing week goes by which you, Our Elected Representatives, do not get something done…we will continue to grow even larger in number and strength…eventually leading to an America shut-down if necessary.

If you, Our Elected Representatives, do not take the steps, and actions, needed to protect our country - there soon will be no country to protect. As Americans, we have no choice but to demand - once again - you, Our Elected Representatives, put the interests of the citizens of this nation first, and take the necessary steps NOW to stop the impending disaster facing our nation.
