the letters are a good thing but i really think we need to either send letters or get out and talk with the american citizens about their voting and educate them on why and who they should be voting for or at least let them know how this rep or that rep stands on these issues that effect All of us
we need people in office to do there jobs and protect the citizens of this country
so like i said i think these letters are great but we also need to educate the average joe citizen on a lot of issues that effect them and all of us and then maybe they will vote the right way and we can have a great country once again

I don't really see any Real TRUCKERS Protests anywhere at all. Where are the Truckers Protesting at, and where are they participating in the "SlowDown WednesdayS"? I have been out every Wed. and I don't see anyone slowing down, or even hear of anyone who knows anything about slowing down. Every Trucker I talk to on the radio says he has never even heard of any SlowDown WednesdayS. How the hell are they supposed to Protest when there are no protests, and how the hell are they supposed to participate in slowdowns that they know nothing about. While you are busy notifying all the political lapdogs, I guess you forgot to include the over the road truckers. I thought they were a BIG part of what all this was about.

You ask, "How the hell are they supposed to protest when there are no protests, and how the hell are they supposed to participate in slowdowns that they know nothing about." I do believe this is where you step up and inform drivers around your neck of the woods. You want actions, yet it's seeming apparent to me, you don't want to participate in informing drivers out there around your parts about what we're doing.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT SS.......If you knew me at all or if you had been here from the start, or if you had once taken the time to go back and read through the threads, you probably would have seen that I am among a very few here that have reached out to the drivers, to the general public, to everyone. I have STEPPED UP a long time ago, and continue to this day. I have signs in my yard, signs and posters on all my vehicles, and every chance I get I am on the CB to everyone I can get to. If you want to call for someone to STEP UP and get in touch with the drivers sir (and right now I'm using SIR very lightly), you might want to take a look in a mirror. I have tried to show you respect here SS, but right now you have really gone over the edge and are beginning to piss me off. You don't even want to go to the territory you're going to. I have ridden up and down I-95 from Va. through Ga. and all across N.C. and S.C. talking to drivers on the road and in truckstops. When I ask them about what is supposedly going on and tell those who don't have a clue, they look at me like, "Yeah Right, and we're supposed to believe you, one person". You really need to back up and get the hell off of my ass........I'm not your buddy from Pa. .....Don't even start with me.
And no, you don't need to reach people in my area, you need to reach people all over the damn country......Your Slowdown isn't working anywhere......Wake Up
I think it's time for you to get your ass out from in front of your keyboard and go out and get in touch with the drivers that you SAY you are fighting for. Go talk to them and tell them that you want them to write and send letters, see what their response is. At least tell them that they're supposed to be slowing down on Wed., oh that's right, they already know that everywhere except here in my area. Stop being a damn politician and be a part of the industry you claim to be trying to save.

Hold on there Buckaroo..... among other things this forum was supposed to working to organize a slowdown, and boycott, a shutdown. I will reiterate; there are only a handful of people who log on here that are, were, trying to get the word out, and in frustration they watched little or nothing done. While Europe and Asia were having slowdowns, shutdowns, protests, vandalism, all out battles with the police, very little was being done in the U.S. The truckers in other parts of the world made some relief, while the truckers in the U.S. got more platitudes and more flat out lies. Corruption is part of doing business with all governments around the world, and the U.S. is by no means an exception. $$ talks, and when the working class starts screaming the gov just turns up the music.

Bandit is doing want others here have been doing and that is to get U.S. drivers stop talking and start fighting, to stop waiting for the truth to come trickeling out ...... as long as the protest are limited to 30 or forty trucks blowing their hones the truth will remain hidden, and America will continue its slow slide into hell.

Just to help with my own curiosity, is there anyone who knows of any protest actions now or upcoming anywhere in the country? If so, what are they, when are they, and where are they? Also, does anyone really see anything happening as far as real participation in the SlowDown WednesdayS campaign? Are there really any SlowDowns anywhere at all that are disrupting the normal flow. If so, where are they and what is going on with them? If all the answers are No, then what the hell do we need to do to get the word out to the American Public? They can't join in and help us if they don't know what we're trying to do.

Hmmm, I have waited 2 days since my post asking for dates, times and places of protest actions and/or slowdown actions that are disrupting normal traffic flows. I don't see a one answer here from anywhere in the country. Does this give us any clues as to how well we're doing with all of this? WHAT HAPPENED?? Do you think maybe we let someone else coming from another site of their own come and knock us off track from what we were doing, and carry all our info back to their own sight, leaving us here with a few letters to send off to Congress? I do...We all dropped the ball and completely forgot about notifying the members of our industry who should have been first and foremost in the communication line. From what I can see, that person has gone back Home.....What do we do now? Do we just forget it all and sit here feeling like "There's nothing else We can do", or do we get up and brush off and get back on for the "Long Ride"?

Hey Bandit: Wasn't there supposed to be something happening on the 4th of July? Wasn't there talk about needing 90 day to put something together for the 4th, or was it the 28 of May, or the 18th of July, or maybe this is all a drug induced dream by the government and this is really 1962 and we all live in small cells an insane asylum. It's beginning to sound like it.

I did not become a member here to be accused of wrong doing. I take the lead with an action I believe will make a difference -- it may not move at a pace according to your expectations, but then this country didn't get into the mess it's in overnight -- only to have you now question my motives. I do not take from this site for the purpose of exploitation. I did not come to this site to throw y'all off track. I came here to be part of something, and you're frustration with the lack of unity within the trucking industry has been lately directed at me apparently.

You blasted at me about getting off my ass and getting out...so I doubled my efforts of getting out. This is where I've been -- out. If my efforts are not wanted here...then just say so. Don't beat around any bushes with statements such as this you have posted. I, and my brother, have the best interests of professional drivers at the fore-front of our endeavors. Nothing we do suggests otherwise.

You may not believe what we are doing will amount to anything, but I believe it will. If everyone here truely feels my efforts and input is detrimental to what y'all are trying to get done...then just say so and I'll continue with my efforts elsewhere.

How about the truckers that want things to get done take these notices and plaster them at every truck stop, rest area, and anywhere else a trucker might see it and read it?

Putting these statements together is very important
Having as many people as possible hounding the politicians with this information is also important
For the actual slowdown to be noticed, that is going to take the actual truckers who read this to spend some time printing some copies each week, and handing them out. It will take drivers talking to other drivers in a civilized manner about this and actually "knowing what they are talking about" when they do talk. You have to be prepared for skeptical truckers to ask questions, and hopefully be prepared with answers. You have to be prepared to talk to truckers who do not agree with this stance, and rather argue, respect their decision.
Talking on the CB about things like this will get you nowhere. The percentage of drivers that actually use the CB is small, and the majority of those who do use it don't use it for useful information, they use it to act foolish and argue. Besides, those you talk to on the radio will forget what you said within hours.
This wont succeed until more and more truckers start passing out this information. And that doesn't mean passing it out once, then getting frustrated because you don't see the news talking about a slowdown within a few weeks. Things like this take a long term effort. The question is, how many are willing to take on that effort? From the looks of it so far, very few.

I have spent alot of money getting flyers and signs/posters printed up and taken them to every truckstop I know of between Va. & Ga. and posted them only to go back a day later and find them torn down. I have stood in truckstops and handed out flyers to drivers and had a big percentage of them crumple the flyer up and throw it on the ground on their way to their trucks shaking their heads. I have been laughed at and made fun of on the radio for talking this stuff up and trying to get drivers to pay attention. I have spent my time, my money, and my gas to try and try again to get the word out to as many drivers and the general public as I can and no one seems to give a shit enough to want to get involved. No maybe you should go try all of that sometime, and see if you can keep from getting disgusted and disappointed. It isn't easy, but yet, I'm still here and I'm still trying. How many here have done half as much? Talking about doing something and actually doing it is very much two different things. Until we can get everyone actually pissed enough and caring enough, none of this is ever going to work. I keep telling you that nothing ever gets done, until enough people are truly hurting. And in saying that, I don't mean physical pain, I mean financially, their livelyhood. There just aren't enough people who feel threatened yet.

I'm not quitting, but it was disappointing.

If a few of us are willing to risk tickets and/or jail then we CAN inflict financial pain. I'm ready now.
Otherwise we'll have to wait for the collapse that is heading our way. I'm getting ready for that, too. But when that happens, I'm gonna tell those who blew me off and say."See ya, feed yourself"

And what it is going to take, just like I said, is a large number of truckers out there doing this, and doing it all the time. Keep the information out there.

As for getting made fun of on the radio, that is exactly what you should expect to happen when you try to talk about anything serious on the stupid CB.
