Haven't received an email, but I did search out articles and videos regarding the event. I have a content page setup with info I've found. Shoot it to my silversurfer@theamericandriver.com and I'll get it included if I don't already have it yet.

I think you may have stumbled onto our problem of getting national media's attention. Hell, if they won't come to us...let's go to them - and drag the lap-dog's along with invitations to meet right at the doorstep of the media.

Also, I've got a link on the "Truckers and Citizens of America" community main page which takes you to a webpage with a list of all the House reps which have signed the "American Energy Solutions" petition by Rep. Westmoreland. I'm not happy with my rep (Hutchinson)...she hasn't signed it yet. Needless to say I've already sent an email urging her to sign. Out of the 435 U.S. House representatives - 170 have signed it to date. This is a good piece of information for determining who to target with multiple emails.

Yeah luna, I graduated from Eustis in '82 with Danny Baugh, his dad owned it then. I remember driving by and seeing a different name on it about 5 or 10 years later. Some of us don't talk for ten years but when we do, we pick up like it was yesterday.I think my mom sold the house in Eustis around 2001 about one block from the Baughs.
\
SS, Ive heard about Hutchinson - not too swift. Don't feel bad, Sen. Burr on cspan today apparently doesn't know the U.S. Constitution too well. I'm open to suggestions from whoever. If we don't try it'll just get worse.
You know, NY TACU could stop by NBC in NYC to make a point too.

I know. My bro's boss had made the trip to NY to make all the permit arraignments for the May 1st NY event for us. But with the D.C. event 3 days prior, and the potential for an even larger group coming into NY...our permits got jacked with the day before. My bro had to go spend the day at Lombardi service area to alert drivers showing up not to go into NY. It really messed up our plans of getting in front of NBC, Good Morning America and Letterman - not to mention Wall Street. Bro had made comment to TACU-NY about the NBC contact, but we don't know what's going on with them since they have associated themselves with TACU. We don't seem to get any info from them, and we gave up trying to get info when our calls were not returned.

As for my Rep...I feel pretty much like the rest of America - Ignored and disrespected. Well, our Elected Representatives "day of reckoning" IS at hand. This I'm truely beginning to believe, and I hope justice is swift and merciless.

Oh yes, the old permit thing. Some of us in Hendersonville had to go down to the city commisioners to inform them that a ten-year old ordinance conflicted with the first Amendment. They were under the impression you had to get permission from the Police Chief. I told them Washington and Jefferson had taken care of that a long time ago. 60 days later they agreed and nixed that law. Calm confidence works wonders!
Gotta go

SS and Rebel, I apologize if I mislead someone to think that my husband and I would go to Atlanta, I was having a discussion with IIroman about protesting here in Nashville, Tn. at our state capitol. It is about 25 minutes from my house. I'm not the kind of person who runs my mouth and won't do what I say I will, I would go to Nash. and protest with some support but to drive to Atlanta is not an option for me. Like i said, I apologize if I mislead anyone.

Ain't no problem, Hadn't heard from ya in a while. Wife's still trying to feel better, she didn't want to worry about bailing me out of D.C. (like that's gonna happen)
Just thought if people had loads going close to there or time allowed we could have a 4th picnic and show everybody time for talk is short, if not overwith.
We're all a few dollars away from losin it. When something happens it'll be pretty spontaneus mixed with a little civil disobedience.
I never was naive to think letters and calls alone would do the trick, but everybody's got a part to play. No apology needed.
Y'all keep'em straight up thar!

No apology is necessary TTW. I was only suggesting it may be a possibility...not that you would be able to.

Here's the initial email I received from Edgar Cosme. I'm certain, from my contact with them, they wouldn't mind receiving contact from others regarding our country's crisis...especially if it envolves an action they could be part of.

Hello,

I have a trucking company and saw your website last night. I find it pretty interesting and would like to know if anyone out there is planning any other strike. I am really tired of seeing fuel going up every single day. But I am also sick of people who complain but don't do anything to encourage changes. My company is making just like any employee on a pay check to pay check. Like me there are many here in Florida that every week while paying bills I do get nauseated everytime I have to make a check for either $4 to $5 thousand dollars per week in just diesel.

Please let me know what we can do to make our voices heard. My cell phone number is 321-624-1512.

Thank you

Edgar Cosme

All right now, watch you don't get hold of a gator, luna.
As far as history of service, Danny's dad owend it when it was Southern Freightways back in the 70's. I think it changed names when Dan took over in the 80's but main term is in same spot in Grand Island where we used to park & party in high school. Their site said they got 140 trucks now.

Got info on best SS. Now we'll see if we can do sumthin

Just got off the phone with my bro, and he has contact info with a driver in SC willing to become active with an action such as this. Are you comfortable with providing your number to pass on to him, or would you prefer contacting him? I could even arraign for a three way call between you, my bro and him possibly. Let me know.
