Sorry for being gone the past few days...was on an out of town job site and took advantage of attempting to gain support from drivers in San Antonio. Here's the next statement for everyone to review and input any suggestions before we begin emailing.

********************

June 15, 2008

To Our Elected Representatives,

Professional drivers are still being driven into bankruptcy. Companies are still going under. American jobs are still being lost. These are realities you, Our Elected Representatives, continues to allow with your in-action.

We have taken our voice to the hill and spoke of the actions we need. We have impressed upon you, Our Elected Representatives, the actions necessary to protect our way of life. We have given you, Our Elected Representatives, the information, and direction, to accomplish the necessary action we need.

During the week of June 9-13, 2008, you, Our Elected Representatives, once again did nothing to help professional drivers or American citizens. You, Our Elected Representatives, have once again allowed another week of suffering. More jobs have been lost, homes have been lost, businesses have gone under due to our current economic crisis, which can be addressed if you, Our Elected Representatives, would just act. You, Our Elected Representatives, continue to talk but get nothing done to help America. You, Our Elected Representatives, continue to bicker and point fingers instead of coming together in the interest of Americans to get something positive done.

During the week of June 9-13, 2008:

On the Senate floor - roll call vote

S.3044 (A bill to provide energy price relief and hold oil companies and other entities accountable for their actions with regard to high energy prices, and for other purposes.)
Rejected Motions to Invoke Cloture

H.R.6049 (To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide incentives for energy production and conservation, to extend certain expiring provisions, to provide individual income tax relief, and for other purposes.)

Rejected Motion to Invoke Cloture

PN1065 (Confirmation Mark S. Davis of Virginia, to be US District Judge)
Confirmed On the Nomination

On the House floor - roll call vote

H.Res.1225 (Expressing support for designation of June 2008 as "National Safety Month".)
Passed On Motions to Suspend the Rules and Agree

Passed On Motions to Suspend the Rules and Agree

H.Res.127 (Recognizing and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the entry of Alaska in the Union as the 49th State.)
Passed On Motions to Suspend the Rules and Agree

H.Res.1063 (Marking the 225th anniversary of the Treaty of Paris of 1783, which ended the Revolutionary War with the Kingdom of Great Britain and recognized the independence of the United States of America, and acknowledging the shared values and close friendship between the peoples and governments of the United States and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.)
Passed On Motions to Suspend the Rules and Agree

H.Con.Res.336 (Honoring the sacrifices and contributions made by disabled American veterans.)
Passed On Motions to Suspend the Rules and Agree

H.Res.1253 (Providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 6003) to reauthorize Amtrak, and for other purposes.)
Passed On Ordering the Previous Question
Passed On Agreeing to the Resolution

H.R.6028 (To authorize law enforcement and security assistance, and assistance to enhance the rule of law and strengthen civilian institutions, for Mexico and the countries of Central America, and for other purposes.)
Passed On Motion to Suspend the Rules and Pass, as Amended

H.Con.Res.318 (Supporting the goals and ideals of the International Year of Sanitation.)
Passed On Motion to Suspend the Rules and Agree, As Amended

H.R.6003 (To reauthorize Amtrak, and for other purposes.)
Failed On Agreeing to the Sessions of Texas Amendment
Agreed On Agreeing to the Tom Davis of Virginia Amendment
Failed On Motion to Recommit with Instructions

Nothing to assist professional drivers or American citizens was accomplished. How long must Americans suffer before you, Our Elected Representatives, take action? How long must Americans tolerate your, Our Elected Representatives, ignorance to the will, and needs, of the American people?

This past week Americans have seen two notable attempts to get something done which helps America…the American Energy Solutions petition, and Rep. Kucinich’s resolution to impeach President Bush. Neither one has been acted upon, nor aggressively pursued. Rep. Kucinich’s resolution outlines justification for this action to have been voted upon immediately, but you, Our Elected Representatives, do not act in the best interest of American citizens. The American Energy Solutions petition outlines desperately needed action, but you, Our Elected Representatives, do not act in the best interest of American citizens. Our country is being destroyed and you, Our Elected Representatives, continue to act as if this is not important…continuing to ignore the needs of American citizens. How many more professional drivers and American citizens must lose their jobs and homes…everything they’ve worked so hard for…before you, Our Elected Representatives, begin to take the action necessary? You, Our Elected Representatives, have created this situation America is in and we are demanding you take the steps necessary to fix what you have done.

Once again…
Actions Needed Immediately:

1.) The immediate passing of S.2910 & H.R.5977 (TRUCC) to bring transparency to the trucking industry. To put professional drivers in the position of being able to make proper decisions regarding their business. It is only right that a businessman should be given the right to know he is being fairly paid for his services. Remove the broker’s ability to continue to rob our professional drivers…the backbone of this great country’s economy.

2.) The immediate action necessary, as testified by Mr. Greenberger, Mr. Soros, Mr. Ramm and Dr. Cooper, before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation regarding the re-instatement of commodity regulations which existed for 78 years before you, Our Elected Representatives, abandoned/changed those regulations…thus leading up to the current economic crisis America faces today. Testimony has been given by intelligent, competent and knowledgeable individuals. Individuals very much aware of the market they speak about.

3.) A commitment to open your doors to more than special interest groups, large corporations and commission representatives…but to professional drivers, and American citizens, with pertinent input to what’s happening to us. A commitment to pursue listening...acting accordingly to the will of the American people. A commitment to become more aware and active with the American people you represent. A commitment to understand the realities of what your decisions on the hill does to the American people.

America is standing on the edge of economic collapse and you, Our Elected Representatives, continue to not take the immediate steps, and action, necessary to protect our country. We are in need and you, Our Elected Representatives, are not doing the job we have elected you to do. We will continue to demonstrate through slow-downs across the nation. As each passing week goes by which you, Our Elected Representatives, do not get something done…we will continue to grow even larger in number and strength…eventually leading to an America shut-down if necessary. If you, Our Elected Representatives, do not take the steps, and actions, needed to protect our country - there soon will be no country to protect. As Americans, we have no choice but to demand - once again - you, Our Elected Representatives, put the interests of the citizens of this nation first, and take the necessary steps NOW to stop the impending disaster facing our nation.

“We The People”

********************

Once again...don't be bashful, defensive or argumentative. Need to get this reviewed and agreed upon so I can get it up on my site and start emailing. I'm working on additional committee lists for specific targeting. I've located the sub-committees where the TRUCC bill is sitting in both the Senate and House...it's a matter of gathering all the email page links.

I think it is very important that you continue with these statements like this. Staying persistent like this, combined with a successful slow down effort, might actually get their attention at some point.

This is the kind of work that needs to be copied by 200,000,000 Americans and sent to their Lap-Dog Congressmen. I've already copied it and will send it off on Ron Wyden (a good guy), Peter DeFazio (another good guy), and that dumbass Gordon Smith on Monday. I'm forwarding it to everyone on my mailing list.

Ever think of running a pull page in the New York Post with this message, and a request that everyone remove the page and send it to their Lap-Dog.

Also anyone got connection with a t-shirt printing company?

I just added another sign to the list.

Help me out here I am very slow. Maybe we went threw it once but don’t think so.
If there is oil drilled and pumped in the good old USA and it is the same price as over seas oil what will make a deferent’s in fuel prices if we pump or drill more oil here in the USA? If some gas stations only use U S oil and gas why are they not at least half price on their gas and fuel? Just asking.

The manipulation goes much farther than just speculators. Speculators are only one of the major factors involved. There is entities controlling large blocks of resources (our government is one of those entities whether Americans want to believe it or not.) They are holding those resources which places the current import supplies in a position of being effected by world events. Our current level of domestic supply is small and is also in the control of investment companies dictating the sale price. The retailers are not, and I repeat, are not the ones robbing Americans...it's the companies they purchase from. Retailers are not making but pennies on the gallon.

Now, if our elected representatives - which have put in place legislation preventing us from using our domestic resources - were to unlock our resources...we could literally flood the oil market with cheaper oil cost per barrel. This would essentially bring our import oil dependence down to literally zero. America's energy supply would no longer be at the mercy of world events, which manipulators and speculators are using to continue to drive the price per barrel up above the actual cost per barrel. And to add to this the fact - the world's energy supply would no longer be at the mercy of world events, only their own country's events would effect their cost for energy.

Flooding our domestic market with our own resources would also bring to light the manipulation going on...the gouging of America, and the world. When the cost to bring to market a barrel of oil is within the current level companies have testified to (45-65 dollars a barrel,) the gouging of America would be so obvious no one could state it isn't happening. As I have read on this forum many times..."the cat would be out of the bag." There's no explanation our government could provide to not pursueing action against these companies.

Now wrap your mind around this, and understand this is my opinion which I have come to through heavy research and serious thought. Our government's actions of locking up our resources and inaction to stop the manipulation occuring within our stock market is the number one major factor to the world's energy cost crisis. The world's energy costs are being based upon the value of our dollar, which is being effected by the manipulation of our market index's and the hoarding of supplies. Understanding the effects our government not only has upon Americans, but the world, is a difficult thing to accept...

What SS is trying to say is this is a vicious circle. We are pumping oil out of the ground here and selling it overseas for market price ($140) then turning around and importing foreign oil for market price. None of this oil should be more than $50 or $60 (just ask Saudi Arabia). Meanwhile Wallstreet is trying to make back their losses from mortgage collapse by gambling on the futures market in commodities like oil and food. Making big purchases in futures makes the price go up. It doesn't really cost $140 a barrel foreign or domestic it's just greedy bastards that are trying to make us pay for their losses which is also causing our dollars to be worth pennies as the price climbs. That's why we need to use our own oil and keep the thieves out of the stock market.
Hope that makes sense

SS, I see letters and notification being sent to state reps., and lapdogs in DC, is there anyone notifying the truckdrivers and O/O about the "SlowDown WednesdayS"? I haven't heard anything going on to get the word out to the guys on the road. What happened to our Regional Reps. I don't see anyone keeping everyone up to date as to what is being accomplished or what everyone is expected to be doing. Where is all the organization that everyone said we all needed? All of a sudden everything seems to have gone quiet again. I'm Just looking for some info on what is being done or if we're doing anything right now, or just waiting for Wash. to do something.

For the first time I see someone else using "Lap Dog" in referring to the "Oil Slick's Lap Dogs" in Washington. I've said over and over again we need to use same BUZZ WORDS when referring to those in congress that have their hands in the pockets of the "Oil Slicks" when we communicate with them. We don't need to be nice to these Lap Dogs, they know we're piss, they know that they are dragging their feet, they know that we know they are flat out lying. The term "Lap Dog" makes that point quit clear, nothing more needs to be said ..... the insult is open and direct. The term "Oil Slick" tells it's own story when referring to the oil industry that have been bleeding the life out of American.

The message that NO Commodity should be allowed to be traded to the point that it effects NATION SECURITY needs to be repeated over and over again. The message needs to be repeated until they get sick of hearing it, but learn not to ignore it. The term National Security needs to be repeated over and over again. There is virtually no regulations in the commodity market, and that one crack in the Nation Security is destroying this nation ..... 9/11 was just a poke in the eye compared to want the Arabs, and Congress have done to the Security of this nation.

Look we need to make the Lap Dogs think that we are organized, even though it appears we're not ..... that a growing number of Americans are aware that Congress is in bed with the "OIL SLICKS".

Your right Bandit, but look a the number of people who are pulling this load. You can count that number on less than two hands, and I think that from time to time we need to take a breather to see who is on board. But your right in as much as we're not growing as a organized group ...... and that makes me wonder what the hell am I doing here, that my contribution to the movement is not helping, that I'm spinning my wheels here. There are other areas of my life that need attention, but I keep hopping that one day the truckers will join the rest of the world and park thier rigs if for even one day to make their concerns felt ....... but will it happen ....... ???????

As for me, I've been taking care of homelife. I think we're all doing what we've been doing. I went by a sign shop and bought some blank magnetic sign material, stencils and paint at walmart and will proceed down I-26 at 45-50mph. I do think it's getting attention, slowly but surely.
National Security is also an important point for us to make.

I feel that we are making great strides, It was laid out on the world news lastnight about the oil specualtors and now the airline industry is speaking out about it and they are aware of what is happening..which is why I spent a couple of days notifying the airlines, etc. so they could pressure on the government. I don't feel like i am spinning my wheels at all. This is what we spent days working on, trying to inform every American citizen what is happening and now this is being accomplished.. I'm sorry but i feel pretty good about it.

Right now the biggest thing the airline industry is doing is raising the price on flying. They are charging extra for everything they can get away with. I'm surprised they haven't put a surcharge on people over 150lbs yet. They've pretty much done everything else, and when they are done, and they are losing their asses and going broke because people can't afford to fly anymore they will look to the gov. for a bailout and they'll get it, and we'll pay for it. I don't understand how this is helping the trucking industry and the ones losing their businesses and their homes and their ability to feed their families right now. All this crap about the speculators, are issues that are going to be discussed for months & probably years, before anything is done, if it is done at all. It all goes back to Smoke & Mirrors again. All I'm saying is, there are alot of independent truckers and their families that need relief and need it now, not years from now MAYBE. And Guess What.......No matter how broke they are, the Gov. isn't bailing them out>>>>>
