  Exclamation  Railroads carrying more freight as fuel prices continue to climb.

Here is part of what you may be dealing with ..... think about this. If a railroad frieght carrier wanted to get trucks off the road what are some of the ways they could do that? Now think, how many lobbists do the railroads have, and how many do the truckers have? We know that the oil companies have deep pockets that Congress can dip into. How deep are the pockets of the railroads.

The railroads are running ads on TV saying they can (and I don't believe a word of it) travel 450 miles on ONE gallon of diesel.

Companies like J.B. Hunt, Schneider, and all the rest that utilize the rail are probably doing pretty well right now because of this.

Dont know about you all but in my town the trains are to long now. If a emergency brakes out across the tracks you might die before you get help if a train is in town. Also at least one or two times a wek it is in the news papers where the train company got yet another ticket for blocking the road to long. Either build over passes or lose some cars on the long trains.
