Quote; Why didnt the Strikes of the past work, Because thats easy no one got along no one had a Straight Definitive strategy, and everyone was trying to take charge and take credit.. We have the opportunity to get things right this time, I dont care if there are 1,000 sites out there getting the information out there or just 2.
Last night i was on a call from the producers of ABC shows such as Nightline, World News, GMA. They are watching us, America is watching us, The World is watching US.. We are setting the movement, We are setting the tone, Canada, The UK, Europe, and Australia are all taking there Leads from us they have now held strikes, boycotts, shutdowns They even have blocked commerce , ports have shutdown fisherman stopped fishing. WHY because this economic disaster is effecting the World, and it all starts with one thing OIL.

The world is watching as we make idiots of ourselves as the go out and actually DO something Italy brought their country to their knees last year in three count em 3 days the other countries you mentioned have been able to pull together and get the attention of the world we have done little more than talk and argue among ourselves.

you are right about the strategy, I am still looking for a group that has taken the time to plan on how to get the TRUCKERS together and get the WORD out the sites that are trying to do something are wanting to convoy here, boycott that and are giving little or no thought on how to get the word out to the people that will get it done. Dan Little has probably done it better than anyone else so far

As far as what needs done that is obvious and well documented here on this site.

we are wasting the goodwill of the very people who we need to support this start turning on your cbs and listening to what is being said and it won't be talk anymore about a planned shutdown, the public was supporting us in numbers i would have never dreamed of and now they are beginning to fade and look elsewhere for solutions.

I am going to say it again START AT THE BEGINNING get the TRUCKERS aware and ORGANIZED and the set a date to do whatever is planned not the other way around as we have been doing it.

I can tell you exactly why the April 1st strike didn't. Let me paint this picture. Every trucker was fed up and ready to do something, they were fired up, the c.b.'s were on fire with talk of a strike. It was all over the news, the media all over the country was standing by waiting to cover it. Some truckers were fired up but still afraid to striked, but every trucker was glued to the tv to see what was going to happen. Now insead of people banning together in large numbers to protest to draw the media, they sat home on strike. SO this gave the media nothing to report on. Truckers glued to their tv's did not see people striking so they were not going to step up. This thing could have been HUGE at this point. It would have grown by the day.. If you sat home on strike, no one knew you were striking. So it was not going to grow. This is my opinion that we missed a GREAT OPPORTUNITY. I believe if truckers saw this happening in the media all over the country they would have joined in.

I myself have no fear of any of this, If i could afford to I would be on the White House steps demanding something to be done. You would see me plastered all over the media. lol Also, part of my point was that they might have been afraid but i believe they were more fired up than afraid and they were just waiting for others to take the lead before they jumped in and they did not see it happening because truckers sat at home..

This is the problem this disaster goes even beyond the Truckers, do they need to be Organized? Yes Absolutely, however it takes more then just Truckers... it takes every red Blooded American Citizen to stand up.
Organization is a Key factor, this is why Im working hard at getting everyone Involved. are there going to be people who want to take over all the time sure, are there people out for there own greed for this Absolutely, Glory hounds as well...
Thats why we have the name Truckers and Citizens United it goes beyond just Truckers...

I have a joke list i use now as an information list , I have 50 people on this, when something important happens I send out these emails,My Mother who recieves this then sends it on to her union, and her joke lists, My grandmother sends it to the Botanical gardens she Volunteers for and her joke lists. It then goes down from the other 50 people and each of them 50 people send it out to there people its a whole Network of people getting the information out there. So by the end of the night the information i had sent out now has gone to 5,000 people and each of them people send it out as well...

I will tell you another golden opportunity that is sliding right thru our fingers and that is the TRUCC act I have call the offices of different elected officials and more than once I have found that the people answering the phones don't even know about it, now if people were calling as they should there should be no one answering a phone that doesn't know about it

you all want change then get DOING something about it and it sure as hell doesn't take long to make a phone call , make a pledge to make at least one phone call a day to a senator or congressman or both that is something that can be done RIGHT NOW that will have a profound impact on this industry!!

You say you cant' support it because it isn't enough?? well its a start!!
you say you can't support it it won't do any good?? well its a start
you say you can't support it because it will lower rates?? well you are full of sh*t rates can't go any lower

Now here is one simple plan that everyone can do CALL,CALL ,and CALL again, call untill they get tired of hearing about it and pass it just to stop hearing constantly about it

you people with websites put it in big bold letters call about the TRUCC act, get the word out, get the people burning up the phones.

this is a no brainer, its in the works and it needs all of our support!!!!

Im a Vet, Im a red blooded American citizen who served this country, I took an oath 20 Yrs ago when I volunteered for the U.S Navy. and to this day I take that oath Very serious,
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

I will do what I must do and I know there alot of Vets and active servicemen/Women that feel the same.

Whats really funny and Scarey at the same time is there are Politicians out there that Support us 110% and they have stated the word revolution several times over..

Jammer, you have been here on the Forum forever and you have seen that there are at least a few of us here that have been doing exactly what you have talked about, and have done it continuously since back in April. I have a phone bill to my state Reps. and to DC that is out of this world and growing. I have an email list that jams up my computer half the time. The problem we have is getting more than just a FEW people to do this. Like you have said, it is going to take EVERYONE to stand up and fight, jump in and become a part of it. Don't just sit there and watch what others are doing and see how it works. Jump in and help make it work dammit. Show the world you have balls enough to fight for your constitutional rights. This Exxon/Mobile/Pilot Boycott isn't going to solve our problems in the trucking industry. It will hopefully help the general public get a break at the gas pump, and some of us get a break at the fuel pump so we can all at least work and pay some of our bills while we work continuously on the other problems and changes we need to address. None of us can fight a damn thing if we're broke and out of business and out on the street. The only thing you'll be doing then is Begging and having the rich kick you aside like trash....If that's what you desire, stay sitting on your lazy ass and watch everyone else fight for you. If you too took the same oath that 4X4 and I took, to defend the constitution against all Enemies, foreign & DOMESTIC, then by GOD GET UP AND HONOR YOUR OATH.

I just got off the phone with my cogressman and both senators. Also called dubya @ 202-456-1111. Hope I didn't overstep my bounds but I let them know about TACU NY and the powwow at Albany on 6/19/08. If I said something wrong I'm sure someone will let me know and I apologize. I call about once a week and ask why nothing's been done about the price of fuel. This time I thought I detected a little fear.lol. That made my day. My old football coach tlod me if you miss your block, just knock SOMEBODY on his ass, and I won't be mad at ya. anyway gotta go

Good job, way to go. We just have to keep this up. Proud of you, don't be afraid to just jump in and take the bull by the horns..You are a American and you have a right to get up in their face. When you speak be sure to speak on behalf of all Americans and not as an individual, if you know what i mean...

Bandit, you are right I do know there is a small group that is working to make this happen and perhaps I should have acknowledged that fact before going off for that I am sorry.

For the ones that aren't doing anything but whine and cry that you are going broke, sorry about your luck, if you haven't got the guts to actually do something besides moan and groan please do us all a favor and shut the hell up.

now for the ones that actually want to do something lets quit this bickering and fighting over stupid crap and get this done, in order to accomplish this we need one SIMPLE plan and then for everyone to get onboard, I don't care what someone comes up with and I really don't care if I cannot agree with all of it but if it is something that can better our lives and get everyone to unite then i am all for it and I will let my differences with the plan go unsaid for the sake of unity and so should everyone else.

Look at this site and the others that discuss the problems in trucking, every idea has its detractors, and just about every thread here and elsewhere eventually get to the point that theres name calling and such, people threatening to leave this site or that site unless everyone agrees to THEIR idea ect what happened to respectful discussions???

I will tell you something else there are a lot of people that are working against us led by the brokers and they will use every underhanded tactic they can so be a bit suspicious of people coming onto these and trying to cause disunity and discord among us, you all know the problems and you also know at least in a general way what needs to be done.

We all need the names and phone numbers of both good guys and the bad guys from you folks who have been able to reach them. That way we can all call the bad guys and tell them we demand they do the job they swore to do. We also need to call the good guy and give them our support.
