Hi I have created a petition to Congress to have them act immediately to authorize drilling for American oil. For lower gas prices, our overall economy, and national security. Here is the petition:

"We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately, in the interest of our economy and national security, to reduce dependence on foreign nations by allowing American oil companies to Drill Now!"

To sign the petition go to Sign the Petition or find it on the homepage at Drill Now! along with more information on drilling in America.

Also this is an official petition, you have to confirm your email by clicking the activation link emailed to you, and it checks to make sure one person isn't signing using multiple emails and names - its a legitimate petition and a real way to get something done. So tell all your friends and email everyone you know. Boycotts are nearly impossible to organize well and get support of. I really believe we can get somewhere with this petition. I also have links so you can email your senator and representative.

NO!!
I WILL NOT SiGN THIS BULL-SHIT PETITION!!!

You people are not getting the message, it would be ten years before one drop of oil would came out of ANWR if they started drilling tomorrow!! They are already exporting 40% of the Crude oil that is coming out of Alaska. Do you think for a moment that the OIL SLICKS won't export the ANWR oil as well!

The oil we need to push is the BAKKEN OIL FIELD, that is being drilled right now and being pumped. What we need is a petition to make The OIL SLICKS to build a larger pipeline and drill more wells at the BAKKEN OIL FIELDS... that's it, that all it would take to bring down fuel prices.

This is Bull-Shit. Who is this userid605 .. sounds like a oil slick empolyee to me, or a NUK-HEAD.

This petition is an Oil Slickers way to get you to give them what they want, more oil to export!!

McCain last night said he would not allow drilling in ANWR, and nither will Obama or Hillery.

I've been busting my ass to give you the information that needs to be forced down the throuts of Congress, but evadently I've been wasting my time here.

This is it ..... if you insist on this damned petition,
I'm finished, out of here!

The petition is actually general to all domestic oil - ANWR and Dakota. I fully realize the time it would take to drill, refine, distribute, but for someone who understands economics just beginning the process will lower world gas prices when foreign countries realize we are going to utilize our own resources. I support drilling anywhere in the U.S.. As for that oil slick employee userid605 I am actually a recent high school graduate in Tennessee. The petition is an official, legal petition. You have to confirm its your real address, and checks to make sure one person isn't signing multiple times. If you don't want to sign don't, but don't discourage others from trying to make a difference.

Good catch Greyfoxx,

This a lame ass attempt to give Bush a green light to RAPE ANWAR and screw the American people some more! That oil will be destined for China!
Why do they seem determined to drill in a wilderness preserve? Maybe to see if Americans will sell thier soul for oil?
Drill Bakken or leave well enough alone!!!!!!

With all do respect young fella, you need to do more research before doing the oil companies work by pushing their agenda. Your igoring the facts in my last post. BP & EXXON who hold the leases on the Alaskan oil now being pumped is EXPORTING 40% of that oil to Korea and Japan. How many time do I have to repeat myself before you read the entire text, or understand it. BP & EXXON are EXPORTING 40% of OUR crude oil to Asia, period, end of subject.

The BAKKEN OIL FIELD is estimated to hold 500 billion barrels of "LIGHT SWEET CRUDE OIL", or four time that of OPEC's holdings. The Oil in ANRW would last us less than ten years, and even less when 40% is not reaching the Continental U.S., where as the oil in the Bakken Oil Field would last closer to 100 years. There is also the deep water fields in the Gulf of Mexico that hold 70 Billion barrels of light sweet crude. Then there are the new fields found in the last two years in California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nevada now because of the new horizontal drilling technology, to name just a few. BP and EXXON only intent is to force us to drill more in Alaska because their already there making a mess of the fishing industry.

I discourage everyone and everyone not to sign the petition because it appears your evidence is the same propaganda that BP and EXXON have been selling for the last ten years, that you research is flawed as to it's effectiveness in bringing the price of fuels down. Next I'll repeat Obama, McCain, Clinton, or the Congress will allow the drilling in ANRW.

I have been researching crude oil and fuel prices for nearly eight years, and you have a lot of research to do before allowing yourself to be a duped by the oil industry.

End of subject...

The part of the petition that says "American Oil companies" would refer to American oil companies.. the part that says "interest of our economy and national security" would refer to allowing companies that are American companies who are going to sell to the U.S. Again It is also in support of drilling in Dakota as well it is part of the petition. I'm not sure why you have assumed the petition is ANWR only. As for the "rape of ANWR" modern drilling (directional drilling) enables drilling sites to extract for places a mile in any direction and they have created wells that are environmentally friendly not to mention they now have switched to an environmentally safe fluid. As for politicians they'll do whatever gets them votes. Because a presidential candidate doesn't support something doesn't mean it can't happen. So what is the basis of your argument? What do you think we should do? Sit back let the few in Washington make the decision as that is working out so well. Finally in case their is still confusion the petition is NOT limited to ANWR but is for anywhere in America that their is a valuable resource of oil.

Fill out a petition that states ALL OIL drilled on US SOIL, WILL STAY IN THE USA! All oil companies will be American owned and all labor will be provided by American citizens! Then I will sign it! And leave the nature preserves alone!

Again "interest of our economy and national security" would entail that it would be American companies, drilling American oil, to sell to Americans. Drilling will not, and has not hurt the wild life in Alaska. In fact some wildlife has flourished because the heat created by the drilling lines encourages growth.

You stand corrected when you say" Drilling will not, and has not hurt the wild life in Alaska".
Does Valdez ring any bells?

Where the Oil Went

This map is a reproduction of a "composite overview of oil spill tracking from March 24, 1989" map originally created by the Alaska Dept. of Environmental Conservation. The oil slick (blue areas) eventually extended 470 miles southwest from Bligh Reef. The spill area eventually totaled 11,000 square miles.

The drilling itself has not will not. One accident is in no way a reason not to drill. Car accidents take so many lives everyday, trains sometimes derail dumping waste into the environment, etc. Do you suggest we don't drive? Or transport materials? An accident calls for reworking the system, improving it. Not dropping it all together

If your so worried about getting a petition to congress, try getting one made to tell them that We the people do not want ONE DROP of our oil to leave the US! Try that and then worry about drilling in the anwar!
