Offer to anyone willing to step up and be a rep/leader...

Here's my thoughts on what the main responsibility of a rep is...
1. Be the leader for the individuals within that region/state. History shows that people are basically followers and will rise up when there is a leading force.
2. Provide a contact point (email and phone#) which people can call/email with questions and input. A strong, committed, individual with the ability to be concise and clear in their statements.
3. Maintain member info. Send emails, or call, members on at least a weekly basis...reinforcing the organizing efforts, and pushing to spread the word.
4. Be active in communicating with other leaders.
5. When an action is called upon...be the committed leader. At all costs - be there for the followers and direct with authority.

Here's my offer to anyone willing to step up. I'll create a webpage on our site with your contact info, background info, and any other pertinent information you want on that page. I'll maintain any changes you want made on your page (simply email what you want done...within reason.) And I will promote your page however I can.

So...do we have any leaders out there to take me up on my offer?

Again, I nominate Moose. I think he would be a great Rep. if he wants the job. I also would like to see flatbedpete as another Rep. if he also wants the job. One more is GreyFoxx. I seriously believe that these 3 would be very good Reps. for us all.

Gentlemen, I joined this forum 2 months ago because I, like all you truckers were so fed up this this industry that i felt like I was going to "bust" if i didn't do something to protect our livelyhoods. I stood with my husbands company and on Aril 1st. we closed that company down for the day. My husband had convienced the drivers at his company to strike and with him leading them they agreed to follow his lead. Let me tell you, we may have not shut the whole country down for the day, but we did shut down his company and it was one of the most proudest days of my life. So if you have pride in your country and in your job and if you are a proud American PLEASE stand up for your country and fight. I am a woman and i'm ready to step up and fight for us. Won't you be a leader. Please don't turn your back when your country needs you. If you gentlemen won't step up we are never going to change anything or even how much worse it is going to get if you don't stand up now. DO you like going broke? Are you enjoying the stress of this? Are you feeling a little desperate? Please stand up now before it is too late for you...

I don't think I'm the man to a be a rep but let me know what I can do as I already have a great tool with my site - drillnow.net. It has an official petition, email your senator/representive page, and plenty of and every growing information.
