Lunachic,

Seriously consider this chance to really drive the point home to the media just how bad the fuel costs are affecting independents. What better statement could be made than one by an independent that's actually beening put out of business because of fuel prices. At least have the discussion before making a decision.

What kind of info do you need hun. Also, Luna, it would be great if your husband could do one more week with this woman. Damn you should tell ss about your husbands week. This is absolutely unheard of.

yea but know he's down and I'm going to leave him alone right now.
When he gets in he's going to have a sit down with them.
we need to do some thinking and look at options.
This is everywhere now. not just his week, hearing of more and more companies in trouble.
I do have a idea, she has a crew and should start hitting the truckstops, or placing ads in papers to have indep. meet with her.
In the bigger picture we cant keep up with our payments and maybe looking into making a move.

Luna, I understand, I just can't even believe his week, I am so sorry.. ss. my husband said he would ask one of their otr drivers to do it. They drive from TN. to Charleston, South Carolina. Let me know what you think. We sure as heck don't want to pass up this opportunity. I thought people would jump all over this.

I think it would be a great opportunity for both of you ( TTW & lunachic ). You are both hurting and both families in different aspects of the business. It may not only help to get the word out as to what this is doing to our industry, but it may also be an outside way to maybe get you both some well needed and well deserved help. Why don't you both get in touch with this reporter and see what you can do. I can't think of two people on here that would work out better for what they want to do. I say GO FOR IT !

How long does this reporter want to spend in the rig? Long enough to just get a story, or long enough to truly see how things are?

I think for it to do much good they would have to be in there for a while, long enough to see the settlements (or lack of), here the phone calls home explaining why there is no money after the costs, basically the entire effect of this insanity.

This is true and that would be a couple of weeks, also alot of these drivers just cant stop, and some only grab a meal on the run, and sorry to say this but go day's without a shower.

I thought he would want an otr driver but if he wants a local also, we are definately in. Thats a reason i thought she might be better off with one of my husbands companys otr because it is one day there and one day back but would give her a feel.

Thanks for the post and the great info and allowing us the opportunity to maybe be part of this request. I'm sure the guys here didn't really mean any disrespect by their levity. I'm sure they're only cutting up between themselves. While I'm starting to understand their humor (now that's really a scarey thought) I also understand how important this opportunity really is for us all. Please don't take their bit of humor with each other as a sign that we aren't very serious about what we are trying to do here on TruckersForum. This affects all of our lives, and we are dead serious, I assure you......Have An Awesome Evening SS
