Sorry I stepped on your toes. You are right. I have not read all the threads. I respect all the work being done by yourself and all the others here on the forum. I am grateful there are people like you that will make the effort. Best we can do is try. What your message says to me is that you have all been doing the letter writing for a long time and it has not made a difference. That is certainly not encouraging. What I heard was that from your experience, most people would not write a letter. I hope you are wrong. I am not here to criticize you. I am just passing on a request, hoping you will pass it on to others. So you take care, and thanks for working for all of us that don’t.

Of all the people who come to this forum I know that many do write letters, email, and phone their Lapdogs legislators, and I would say that in many cases that progress is made. But you need to know as we have learned that there are only a few legislators who care, who are not members of the "Corporate Tower of Babel", the greed mongers. If Americans were not outraged by the way our government has been ignoring us and not expressing their anger there wouldn't congressional committees looking into the cause and effects of the corruption behind the ever rising prices of all fuels; gasoline, diesel, heating oil and their effects on food. We need to support thos legislators who are trying to bring justice back to America, we need to write them as well.

The signs are there for members to copy and put in the windows of the trucks, cars, and home windows. Silversurfer has been writing letters that we can all copy and mail to the corporate Lapdogs who need to be reminded that they were elected to represent all American and not just those with deep pockets. WE ARE AT WAR! and that is the long and the short of it. This is all about OUR nation. All of us should be picking up pin and pencils, brushing off our keyboards and writing letters. They don't have to be a literary or well educated to express your anger ....... you just need to write letter every time the anger rising every time fuel prices rise.

If we weren't out here in the real world trying to get more people on this forum to write, email, phone, or knock on the doors of these lapdogs we be seeing fuel price much higher than they are today. They know we're pissed, but I say not enough Americans are pissed. The Black men were able to get one million black men to march on Washington, The ILLEGAL MEXICAN NATIONALS are able to get millions of illegal's to march in the streets of America carrying Mexican flags, and they WIN!!! The word shame is a sharp knife, and it cuts deep into our pride, into the way we look at ourselves, but can we get enough truckers and Americans to voice there anger? My reply would have to be we can't get a full scale strike much less a slowdown by the drivers. Its like watching an entire industry slowly bleeding to death, and no one cares enough to rise up and fight.

In Europe and Asia Truckers are fighting hand to hand combat with the police and in some cases the army, in this country we talk and talk and piss and moan while we stand around the BBQ with our friend eating recalled hamburger. The "World Bank" thinks we have it to good, that we need to be more humble, that we need to lower our standard of living, that we don't have enough Veterans living under bridges, that the rich aren't rich enough, that the Constitution is nothing more than toilet pager for people like Cheney and his puppet. Ralph Nader was right when he said that the rights of the people are no longer the concern of Congress, that they can't get their heads out of the pockets of the filthy rich long enough to see this nation is in pain.

Write your letter, email your legislators, call you legislators, not just you Congressmen but you state legislators. Anything you can do will in the end, at the every least keep you from feeling the shame of having done nothing when the Mexican truckers take over the industry, and your truck is rusting in your driveway. At least I fought back.

I will say this again and again .... if the tuckers shutdown for a day, better a week that John Q, Public would come out into the streets to support them. But instead we can cheer the Europeans, and Asians for doing the job we should be doing ........ fighting back!

Greyfoxx, you can't seem to get it out of your head for some unknown reason, the stike which by all rights was a strike was called by the UNION"S in Europe, I speaking for myself I am willing to try snail mail a few times, but I'm sure the responce will not differ from befor. and as stated over and over again the problems with the trucking industry goes far beyond OIL. by all rights I wish someone would put effort into the trucks. The trucking industry in whole is so screwed up. And the only way trucks in any way shape and form will make a difference is If the union (teamster) join with us. they are just to blind to the fact that the big boy's swash buckle swift, ect, will be their demise.
The fact that most of us Indep. are shut down or under lease now is the sign u have been looking for. WE ARE BROKE.
Put ur efforts towards the trucking industry where it belongs, THE UNION!
Ask question's, try to find answers.
Org. the people of America, trucker's are the people of our Country too.
Know different from any John Q.
It's a job, Trucking is not and I repeat not a miltary force....................

Before writing letters know what your talking about.

Naimi Says Politics, Not Geology, Limit Future Oil (Update1)

By Ayesha Daya and Fred Pals
July 3 (Bloomberg) -- The world has as much as 5 trillion to 7 trillion barrels of oil yet to be developed, located in ``challenging'' areas or acreage closed to exploration, Saudi Arabian Oil Minister Ali al-Naimi said.
``The limits to future supplies have more to do with politics than with geology and resource availability,'' al-Naimi said in Madrid, speaking at the World Petroleum Congress, where he is receiving an industry award. Concern over supply can be overcome by allowing ``explorers to explore and find hydrocarbons where they aren't allowed,'' he said.
Oil prices have doubled in the past year, touching a record $145.85 a barrel today on concern that conflict with Iran over its nuclear program would cut Persian Gulf supplies. Iran is OPEC's second-largest member.
Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil producer and de facto leader of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, decided to unilaterally raise output by 500,000 barrels a day during June and July as investors bought into commodities as a hedge against a weakening dollar, falling equity markets and on concern supply may be disrupted.
The kingdom, which said it would add 300,000 barrels a day to the market in June, held an emergency meeting last month for oil producers and consumers in Jeddah to discuss ways to stabilize the oil price. It will pump an additional 200,000 barrels a day in July, taking daily production to 9.7 million barrels.
The minister maintained that there is enough oil supply, echoing comments from other OPEC ministers this week. ``How many times do I have to tell you, prices have nothing to do with supply and demand,'' al-Naimi said.
High prices, which the minister blamed on factors including geopolitics and a weak dollar, are affecting economic growth. ``It affects everybody equally,'' he said. ``High oil prices affect economic growth worldwide.''

God lady ..... who's side are you on? The members of this forum are not your enemy, but I will give you credit, you sure have a talent for making it sound that way.

I would surmise that your just having a bad day. Look..... my suggestion is you do what you think is best and l'll do want I think is best. If you think I'm wasting my time tell me about it on the "Let just talk" tread, but the "In the News" thread is where we post items in the news that educate the members, not where we put eachother down.

We are all Americans, we all use fuels, we're all pissed, we're all doing want we can do. You need to lighten up lady!

Oil hits record and shows no signs of slowing - International Herald Tribune

Read this whole article and you will see what happened to make oil skyrocket. Especially the last 2 paragraphs and that will explain all that is wrong with OIL.

Quite a "SHOCKER"

The oil thread here has been moved from the "trucking industry issues" to the "Truckers Political forum".

I agree Bandit ..... when censorship becomes and issue we no longer have an open forum, we have what appears to be a mini-me-dictator telling us what is or is not acceptable. The hole concept behind a free and open forum here is a sham. When you try to protect yourself from the effects of a mediposial attack he jumps on the one being attacked. When mini-me thinks he can chew the members asses because he doesn't agree he uses insults and character attacks as if he were the Gestapo running shotgun over all the villagers. Instead of using the private message link to get his message across he uses the forum to punish the offending villager.

I've found two other forums I'm researching with a bit more care this time ..... I'll keep you up to date.

Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.'
