Of all the people who come to this forum I know that many do write letters, email, and phone their Lapdogs legislators, and I would say that in many cases that progress is made. But you need to know as we have learned that there are only a few legislators who care, who are not members of the "Corporate Tower of Babel", the greed mongers. If Americans were not outraged by the way our government has been ignoring us and not expressing their anger there wouldn't congressional committees looking into the cause and effects of the corruption behind the ever rising prices of all fuels; gasoline, diesel, heating oil and their effects on food. We need to support thos legislators who are trying to bring justice back to America, we need to write them as well.
The signs are there for members to copy and put in the windows of the trucks, cars, and home windows. Silversurfer has been writing letters that we can all copy and mail to the corporate Lapdogs who need to be reminded that they were elected to represent all American and not just those with deep pockets.
WE ARE AT WAR! and that is the long and the short of it. This is all about OUR nation. All of us should be picking up pin and pencils, brushing off our keyboards and writing letters. They don't have to be a literary or well educated to express your anger ....... you just need to write letter every time the anger rising every time fuel prices rise.
If we weren't out here in the real world trying to get more people on this forum to write, email, phone, or knock on the doors of these lapdogs we be seeing fuel price much higher than they are today. They know we're pissed, but I say not enough Americans are pissed. The Black men were able to get one million black men to march on Washington, The ILLEGAL MEXICAN NATIONALS are able to get millions of illegal's to march in the streets of America carrying Mexican flags, and they WIN!!! The word shame is a sharp knife, and it cuts deep into our pride, into the way we look at ourselves, but can we get enough truckers and Americans to voice there anger? My reply would have to be we can't get a full scale strike much less a slowdown by the drivers. Its like watching an entire industry slowly bleeding to death, and no one cares enough to rise up and fight.
In Europe and Asia Truckers are fighting hand to hand combat with the police and in some cases the army, in this country we talk and talk and piss and moan while we stand around the BBQ with our friend eating recalled hamburger. The "World Bank" thinks we have it to good, that we need to be more humble, that we need to lower our standard of living, that we don't have enough Veterans living under bridges, that the rich aren't rich enough, that the Constitution is nothing more than toilet pager for people like Cheney and his puppet. Ralph Nader was right when he said that the rights of the people are no longer the concern of Congress, that they can't get their heads out of the pockets of the filthy rich long enough to see this nation is in pain.
Write your letter, email your legislators, call you legislators, not just you Congressmen but you state legislators. Anything you can do will in the end, at the every least keep you from feeling the shame of having done nothing when the Mexican truckers take over the industry, and your truck is rusting in your driveway. At least I fought back.
I will say this again and again .... if the tuckers shutdown for a day, better a week that John Q, Public would come out into the streets to support them. But instead we can cheer the Europeans, and Asians for doing the job we should be doing ........ fighting back!
