Oil surged to $130.47 per barrel when the report came out that US oil supplies dropped by 4.1 million barrels according to American Petroleum Institute stats, but dropped 5.4 million barrels according to Energy Department stats.

At this point oil is the current gold mine against inflation, but the more speculators that dive in to hedge against inflation, the more the price goes up and the stock market goes down. The depreciating housing market continues to be a major factor for investors jumping into oil and other commodities out of the stock market.

Most travel and transportation industries are taking heavy hits on these record prices, and everyone is blaming everyone else for the problem. Some are already projecting $141+ per barrel of oil for the second half of 2008, which is a very likely scenario since it only took us under 3 weeks to go from $120 to $130. This situation is absurdly crazy!

I wish you had been here yesterday and saw the news article that was written about closing the loop hole in the hedge funds and oil speculators driving up the price. I will see if i can find it for you, IT IS RIGHT ON THE MONEY.. We are learning here thanks to you and others.

Hey Ya'll,,,I'm still not feeling up to par, but I'm here for a little while anyway. I got out today and went to the doctor and wound up getting totally disgusted by what I saw. Gas here went to $3.89 a gal. up from $3.79 yesterday and diesel to $4.65 a gal., up from $4.49 yesterday. We still need this boycott, and we need it Right Now. However, this is not going to be enough or soon enough to help us at the rate the oil companies are stealing from us. If they keep going at the rate they are now going, the boycott won't be a fast enough to mean anything before we all go under. We need the boycott, but we need something Strong, and We Need It NOW!!! At the rate they are raising fuel prices they will easily break all of us long before a boycott even bothers them. I don't know if we can even move fast enough to stop what they are doing, without the majority of people in this country saying we've had enough and just plain STOP....Stop and Stay Home. We all know that isn't going to happen, so where does this all leave us? My local news hasn't even mentioned the fact that gas and diesel jumped as much as it did today. It's like nobody cares anymore. We just fill up and pay the price, whatever it is. What they did have on the news was a whole segment on "The Art Of Dumpster Diving". Can you believe that? They are showing the people how to steal food from a grocery store dumpster. What the hell has this damn country come to? What the hell is wrong with the people of these United States Of America? It's no wonder I'm sick.....all this is enough to make anyone sick. There is a report on the national news RIGHT NOW about truckers using drugs to KEEP GOING.....not about truckers going broke because of high fuel prices.....DANGEROUS TRUCKERS ON DRUGS !!!!!........Welcome to the USA, Home Of The Naieve and Land Of The Bankrupt.....Does the Government own and control the mass media? I really don't know if we can do anything fast enough to stop all of this or even slow it down, but I know we have to at least give it our best shot.....No one else seems to give a shit about anything anymore. Has anyone come up with any poster/flyer samples? I have homemade signs in my yard and on my vehicles, but something a little nicer would be more effective I think. I'll try to be here as much as I can tonight, it may be off and on, but I'll do my best. I don't think there is such a thing as an Awesome Day anymore.....so I'm not even going to say it.

$4.69 For on-road diesel in Eatonton G.a Tonight at the eagle one truckstop, and the owner said it was going up another dime tonight, So I guess it will be $4.79 tomorrow. It pisses me off so bad. I guess also that there will be a bunch of trucks sitting after friday. Screw the Big oil tycoons and our government for letting it happen. This used to be a great nation. It has now apparently went to shit thanks to our dumb-ass tree-hugger loving government. I agree with you Bandit, An Immediate boycott/ Shutdown is in order. I expect a big shut down with these fuel prices. What a crying shame about the news and "Dumpster Diving'' Have we been reduced to that ? Maybe our armed forces should turn on the u.s government. I'll bet that if every soldier sat down and refused to do a damn thing someone's ass would get to doing something. They couldn't court marshall all of them. We all as a people need to come together and tell our government HELL NO !!!!!!

Esp when the Gov has already started the LIE that all military personnel have mental problems with Corp's working with them as usual hand n hand refusing to give them jobs; Almost had conflict here over it as Boeing hoping for military contracts was extremely nasty against them; saw that on C-span with older vet in Oregon Congress saying this anti vet movement has got to stop; & reading letter supervisor in Boeing had made towards vets; me & multitudes of others emailed & protested vehemently & said come on, you sob's you give Boeing the contract re planes; instead they sent it to France; many upset with us for doing so; felt jobs should have stayed in USA; I apologize if you feel that way. When the Gov of the USA working with Corp's to intentionally malign other American citizens esp veterans or troops coming home as I like to think of them: I am a person who supports our troops not China by buying a sticker made from there. I will STAND up & am willing to go the extra mile for them; & yes, if need be, die for the injustices I am seeing being done to them. Were you even aware of the fact that the body count as they say is higher every single year from returning vets than during the whole 5 years in Iraq? ANY one doing the highly dangerous act of defending one's country whether I am in agreement with the actions of the USA Gov or not to be there; REQUIRE, not desire, REQUIRE a time of peace, calmness & serenity when they return; our Gov has denied this to them claiming no $; that is a lie; lots of $ at both st & fed levels for "ag workers" who are given job preferences; etc; to force thru the NAU, of which Mexico is at Civil War over due to their Constitution being ignored & actions of their Gov from the actions of Bill Clinton to start it & Bush to continue pushing thru for it;

I agree with you racer, but when you point the blame, don't forget all of us too. WE let it happen, and are continuing to let it go on. If every trucker would get pissed like you and I and a few others, they would park the damn trucks and demand that something be done. And all of you that are reading this and saying "That can never happen" You're WRONG, it can happen, all it takes is for all the guttless truckers that are afraid to stand up and fight, to reach down and find the balls they were born with and show the government and the oil companies that they still have them. The way I see it, ya'll have 2 choices. You can either let the gov. and the oil companies break your asses and shut you down, or you can park your trucks now on your terms and make them bring down the cost of gas and fuel so we can continue to support our families again. You're the only one who can make the decision. You either still have your balls, or you don't. It's time to SHOW YOUR STUFF, or get them shoved down your throats.

What the hell is wrong with all the others? They must be Scared !!!!

Hi All
I am new to this site, joined today. From what I read several of you are just a little pissed about the way fuel prices are going up on almost hourly basis. You have suggested that you must do something before its gets to the point of $6.00 a gallon or more. My Grandfather would tell you to speak with one voice. He helped organize pipe line workers in the 30's. That means you have to organize. Maybe an association of independent truckers or the like. 10 men shouting is the same as pissing in the wind. But one man representing 10,000 men is heard. until you speak with strength, it is just hot air. I also suggest you take the time to read "The Naked Communist". Its what is happing to us right now. It just might give you some ideas on what you are fighting and how you can stop it if we all work together as independent FREE men, Not a bunch of steers bellowing in the stock pin waiting to be taken to the slaughter house.

Tell you what, many are scared, I have been sitting since April 1st. Getting allot of service work done on the trucks and other equipment. Just finished landscaping the front of the yard. Getting ready to start the new parking lot behind the shop and a new driveway. We had a few loads from here in Northern IN to CA to move Hummers for the Military. We were quoted 6g per pair, and then they changed their mind. I heard Mercer and another company had a bunch of Morons move them for less than 4g. So there you have an answer. People are taking cheap freight still, big companies are laying off, cutting wages, doing what ever they have to do to make ends meet if they can. Have had several offers of equipment from places closing. The truck traffic here is about done. Very very little movement.

Blind eyeOpen, Thanks for the post and the tip about the book. I will try to find the book, but heres an excerpt and an excellent website about the corruption. Damn it runs deep!

Communist Goals (1963) Documention below Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963
Current Communist Goals
EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:
[From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen]
CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Communist Goals - 1963 Congressional Record

You think you've got it bad. over on this side of the pond it's £1.25....$2.50 per litre.
If you watch the news on tuesday around noon you will see me and 1000 other truck drivers bringing london to a halt.
I'll be the one in handcuffs, the arresting officer will be the one with the broken nose.
It also says P J O'Kane on the truck.

When you get out...put some links up for us to get some info on what happened. Our national media will not cover it, this I know due to our current problem with getting them to report not only on our crisis regarding high fuel prices and professional drivers getting screwed, but reporting on this world wide crisis, when truck drivers are involved.

Good luck brother...stand up and speak out.

Thank god for the worriers, for those with the courage to stand up and be knocked down, to go to jail for freedom!.

One reminder .... 75% of your cost of fuel is taxed to pay for health care, education, highways, public transportation. We get nothing but grief for our taxes.

NEWS FLASH .....I just got a phone call from a friend in western Washington who tells me the there are gas stations serving water with their gasoline. The story is that one of the truck drivers pump water into one of the trucks delivering gasoline to EXXON/MOBIL stations. Whoever he is, you have my blessings, "God save America"
