This is today's announcement at Transport Topics. That is an increase of 16.6 cents, in one weeks time. This follows an increase of 18.2 cents last week.

Oil closed at $126.29/barrell on Friday, it will probably be over $130 by the end of this week

Groceries were up overall about 2% last month, thanks to these costs you are seeing. Now you can expect to see grocery costs increase even faster because the fuel costs are climbing faster than ever.

Now, how long can you folks survive once groceries continue to skyrocket in price?

Trucking Bozo said a little while ago that fuel will be over $10.00 per gallon by the end of the year. I have to agree with him. The United States Of America is going to become a 3rd World Country at this rate, which is exactly what the countries controlling the oil want to see. And we are LETTING them accomplish this goal.

I posted a little too quickly. This was for the State of Alabama. Other areas of the United States are seeing much higher increases. The San Francisco area had a 9% increase during the month of April, which triggered canned food drives to feed those who were starving as a result.

When people start starving, they become desperate and do things they normally wouldn't do.

folks: you have GOT to learn HOW to shop; save $; & live frugally; keep $ to yourselves & NOT give to Corps; I can teach you HOW to do it; I cannot force you to take the steps to do it or pass it on; many of us in the USA have SEEN this coming & are training even day care kids & smaller to garden organically; using NOT hybred seeds; nor genetic; we are trying to be self sustaining communitys; going community gardens/share cropping/share farming/keep all things local; including chickens for eggs etc; we are asking for EVERYONE to front lawn garden; don't have to use GAS for mowing the lawn; and in containers; whatever you can; we want to can; freeze; & solar dry as much food as we can for the community; good links are in yahoo groups: moms living frugally; fiftyplusandkids; (they teach even self pollination without which no food) freecycle.org & other local ones in my area we try & give & get things free; make your own laundry soap; quick, easy, cheap; save a bundle; use clothes line where can; clothes racks if can in house; use vinegar with water instead of other chemicals for cleaning; add 20 drops of essential oil like lemon makes house smell great; can use mint or apple etc; use it even to mop with! regular white vinegar which is cheap; on local area groups we post savings where we find them at stores; great buys to let others know of them; don't buy newspapers go on line; same with mag's; at local library we exchange them for free; we have local place we can give/get books; etc; email me if interested in more tips

see my previous note & let me advise this is NOT the time to stay to yourselves; many neighbors including elderly folks are so confused by what is going on; they don't even know of the savings in other stores & shop the tiny markets or stores where they are so high priced on most things by simply going 5 blocks they would save so much money; i bought food for elderly neighbors 2 months & told them where to go; but she has MS & he buys where he wants; ex; local store cucumber $1.78; at store 7 miles away 25 cents; i explained I was sorry but the 2 of them get more $ than I do each month; I have offered to do shopping for them but they didn't want me to. There is only so much I can do; I am disabled also;
