What I dont understand is why it started here.
Alot of people we know ran to otherstate to find jobs, first building stoped then flatbeds, After all ran just the state and follow building.
everything started going up, but work and wage went down.
It has been hard and we have been in it longer,
and the outlook is not good, Hotel's are tring to bring people here buy offering them $100. in gas if they stay a week,
Now u have to admit that's funny, This state has only tourist to keep it afloat, What is $100. in gas going to do? And the ones who can afford a vac.
dont need it........................................

ExxonMobil Admits Boycott Hurts

Last December, the ExxonMobil Corp., known as Esso in Europe, indicated that an activist boycott is hurting its U.K. sales at the pump. Green groups, led by Greenpeace, People and Planet, and Friends of the Earth, staged over 300 demonstrations in the U.K. on December 1, at which time Esso's fuel retailing manager Stuart Kelly reported a drop in sales, though the impact was "low," he said. ExxonMobil, the largest publicly traded oil company, has been accused of opposing the Kyoto Protocol on greenhouse gas emissions and refusing to invest in renewable fuels. Exxon senior vice president Rene Dahan countered these statements by saying that the company does aim to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, but, "without giving up economic prosperity" Boycott organizers continue to ask drivers not to buy ExxonMobil or Esso gasoline.

Good Morning Don:

This morning James and I had breakfast at that little restaurant on Sunset Blvd. near Wilshire. They have outside tables. While we were waiting for our food a newer Jaguar pulled up and parked at the curb right in front of us, and in the back passenger window was one of your boycott signs. The couple sat two tables up from us, I asked the guy where he got the sign, and he said one of his employee was passing them out at work. He laughed about the gas mileage his Jag got and thought the sign made a good point.

Can you email me another copy, I'll put in the back windon of my new BMW. No I didn't buy a new car, it's one of our company cars.

Peace my friend..

Howie.

This is more of the kind of stuff that needs to be posted, it is very motivational and encouraging to others.. Just like Bandits post yesterday about cruzing by Exxons with his signs and the progress he has made by impacting their sales. These are much better ways to get people motivated to participate..

Yes it is and I want a beamer, I have always wanted one. So I will hold on to your word encouraging. And add dreamer to it, Because that is about as close as I will ever get to it.
We need to get the Boycott info out more.
This boycott has been an on going one for years, it just needs refrubished.
I'm going to try and have some of the new signs made up and have a friend of mine who sells at the flea market hand them out.
And to the breakfast guy, take care of that
beamer............................

You're exactly right luna, this Boycott against Exxon/Mobile was actually started years ago. It got off to a good start in Europe, and started over here and then people just let it more or less die. It's time to get it fired back up and hammer them. They probably pretty much felt that everyone forgot about it, Hello, We're back assholes ! Yesterday I noticed an empty billboard not too far from my place and on a heavily traveled road. I took my best Boycott sign that I had with me and went to inquire about renting the board and having the sign put up on the billboard, where it would be about 100 times larger. The gentleman looked at the sign and remarked as to how nice a sign it was and how well layed out it was, and then told me that we couldn't use that, we would have to put up something else in place of it because it was much too controversial. I then said, You have got to be kidding me. He said if he allowed that sign to be put up on that board it would cost him his job. He said he had been told by his supervisor that they only dealt in advertisement, and not controversy. I couldn't believe it. So much for freedom of speech. Guess I might have to look into making my own damn billboard......

We need to let them and the other stations get wind of it.
What we need is a price war.
let them fight each other.
