Hey Ya'll,,,I'm still not feeling up to par, but I'm here for a little while anyway. I got out today and went to the doctor and wound up getting totally disgusted by what I saw. Gas here went to $3.89 a gal. up from $3.79 yesterday and diesel to $4.65 a gal., up from $4.49 yesterday. We still need this boycott, and we need it Right Now. However, this is not going to be enough or soon enough to help us at the rate the oil companies are stealing from us. If they keep going at the rate they are now going, the boycott won't be a fast enough to mean anything before we all go under. We need the boycott, but we need something Strong, and We Need It NOW!!! At the rate they are raising fuel prices they will easily break all of us long before a boycott even bothers them. I don't know if we can even move fast enough to stop what they are doing, without the majority of people in this country saying we've had enough and just plain STOP....Stop and Stay Home. We all know that isn't going to happen, so where does this all leave us? My local news hasn't even mentioned the fact that gas and diesel jumped as much as it did today. It's like nobody cares anymore. We just fill up and pay the price, whatever it is. What they did have on the news was a whole segment on "The Art Of Dumpster Diving". Can you believe that? They are showing the people how to steal food from a grocery store dumpster. What the hell has this damn country come to? What the hell is wrong with the people of these United States Of America? It's no wonder I'm sick.....all this is enough to make anyone sick. There is a report on the national news RIGHT NOW about truckers using drugs to KEEP GOING.....not about truckers going broke because of high fuel prices.....DANGEROUS TRUCKERS ON DRUGS !!!!!........Welcome to the USA, Home Of The Naieve and Land Of The Bankrupt.....Does the Government own and control the mass media? I really don't know if we can do anything fast enough to stop all of this or even slow it down, but I know we have to at least give it our best shot.....No one else seems to give a shit about anything anymore. Has anyone come up with any poster/flyer samples? I have homemade signs in my yard and on my vehicles, but something a little nicer would be more effective I think. I'll try to be here as much as I can tonight, it may be off and on, but I'll do my best. I don't think there is such a thing as an Awesome Day anymore.....so I'm not even going to say it.

Bandit...that's a good notice statement. Short is always the key. I do think the statement "let's stop big oil from reporting another record profit" would be a powerful statement to add to what you have.

"The American Driver ~ Truckers and Citizens - United" has already called on America to boycott all the big oil companies. I have read where a few of y'all believe it should be a more focused boycott on specific companies, but I believe we don't have much more time at the current rate on increase in fuel prices. We need refinery capacity increased and to utilize American resources now, to stop the spiraling increase. Anyways, feel free to utilize any part of our "Boycott Goal" statement to support your reason for boycotting Exxon/Mobile and Pilot.
The American Driver - Boycott Goal

I'm with y'all on this and anything I can do to help...just ask. If it's within my power - consider it done.

This would make a great "Letter to the Editor" or an email to a Congressmen, but just how large a sign to you want to tape, glue to your car and truck and still be able to read from more than a car length or from across a freeway. Monday is the 26 so why add a date, by the time the signs are printed and clued to you car the 26th will have come and gone. There's and old saying "Keep it simple, stupid". Putting signs in your yard that people have to stop their cars to read should make us all popular in our neighborhoods.

You can take anything you can print on paper to a printer and have it enlarged then staple it on a piece of plywood and Walla you have a sign. Or about you would like to stand on a street corner and holed up a sign that have drivers straining their neck to read it. Is there a law about obstructing traffic?

I can change the text, but lets all settle on just how large the text should be......after all this is still a democracy.

I've used Kinko's in enlarge drawings to as large as 30"x30" for $3.00, but that was before the world went insane with greed.

So that I don't damage this thread on a tangent of mine I will post under new members so that anyone interested can know why I joined this forum even though I am not a trucker.

Hi all, Been a while since I posted but I am back. I am in on the boycott of Exxon/Mobile and Pilot. I stopped fueling at Exxon and their STOP-IN's as of May 1st. It's just my own little step but I know we can make a difference. I also have been passing the word at work and most of my co-workers and family members have now stopped using EXXON as a local stop.
I think if everyone can get organized this might just work! Too many refused to join the strike or the convoy to DC but this is something that might work. It won't hurt anyone's pocketbooks or livelihood except the oil companies themselves.
This is Memorial Day week-end, if word starts now it will slowly build and maybe by the July 1st weekend Exxon and Pilot will take major hits.

Blessings all.

I am on yahoo groups; being new to computer don't know others; there are several recycles in our area; so ore cafe; we share crop/share farm/; the best price of all is FREE. see other postings on this by me; get smart & devious like they are & CHANGE your ways of doing & thinking; wise up fast; & this is actually in response (overpricing for fuel); cuz they are hurting in the pocketbooks in multiple places as well as just being a'holes; think abusive husband hiding assets & trying to be as nasty as can be trying to FORCE their crap on us; sorry; won't do it; fun to see how much we have hurt them in chemical areas & making own laudry soaps; etc; they are NOT happy with us community gardening; farming; solar drying; I need to get info on how to use vegetable oil for gas; used; french fries grease; I have seen it done; anyone got the scoop?

Have you heard about the Truckers in New York calling for a strike June 1st if the state Gov doesn't remove the state sales tax on gasoline and diesel. They threaten to stop food, fuel, or other deliveries if the state does not comply. This should be a national strike in all major cities.

Just how many people are we reaching on this forum? Are we spinning our wheel here?

Has anyone copied the Boycott signs. I don't feel the fire.

I dont belive we are getting the word out.
too many drivers never even knew of May 5. So it does not matter which forum we are on because they all posted.
we need a old fashion way to get it out.
i did not copy the signs becuse I cant but I'll go to the print shop and have my own bumper stickers made.
Thinking of a t-shirt to and a hat for hubby.

I understand and agree with the boycotts but that will have no effect on the situations that we as O/Ops are faced with right now. The rates are too low, and no mandatory fuel surcharge in place, and brokers taking too much off the top. I have supported all the shutdowns, and everything else but i am losing my business, my home and everything i own due to me not hauling cheap freight. Where and when will some immediate help come.
