If our government won't protect us, i want to see all Americans take a stand and fight for themselves.

The first and formost thing I want to see is the cost of petroleum products brought down to a responsible and resonable rate. That means lowering diesel fuel so that our independant truckers can afford to get back on the road and make a decent living and support their families. And lowering gas so that the average citizen can afford to drive to and from work in order to support his/her families too. I've said it before, and I'll say it again....If we can't get the fuel costs down, none of the rest matters. The fuel cost issue has got to be the first battle, and it has to be won before any of the rest can be addressed. If anyone sees it any different, please show me and explain it to me. Diesel fuel here went to $4.50 a gal. today, and is going to go up again tomorrow and the next day. If this isn't stopped and stopped in a big hurry, there isn't any use in even looking at the rest of the issues. We won't be needing them. We'll all be living in cardboard boxes under a bush somewhere. We have got to get a HANDLE on this Fuel Cost and get it under control NOW>>>

I think we need to economize our efforts.
Instead of pursuing many worthy things at one time, I believe we should consider focusing on just a few. What is our greatest strength? What bonds us together as a group?

We should also realize by now that we are not getting the attention of the media, any ideas of how to grandstand would help.
What are the best means of getting a message out into the public? What really will create an interest? Who are we trying to reach? If we could have one single effective outcome that you would be pleased with, what would it be?

I think that we could use a sticky entitled "What can I do to help" right on the home page. Here by consensus we could agree on something anyone can do to help, like distribute emails or post signs on their vehicle. Try to put them in order of ease, instead of need.
Whatever we decide on as a group, I'm in.

First of all Shadowdr, the only way you're gonna get any real media attention is to either create a huge disturbance of some kind, or blatantly break the law. You have got to JAM something up somewhere somehow bad enough to cause a major dilema which in turn will attract the media. Most times, the media doesn't want to just sit down and talk to someone. They want excitement along with it so it attracts loads of viewers.

Yes exactly, any idea what can be done? Any good ideas of how we could get free publicity?
I'm thinking hollywood style, anyone know of an actor associated with trucking that could also use the publicity to get back in the news? One of the biggest draws is an actor with a cause.

I have an idea, it is rather nasty but will get things to come to a head as some would say. Its a small investment and can be spread widely. 1.5 inch roofing nails at all major entries to fuel centers during rush hour. Just think of the mayhem. I just love this free country. To really drive this home, we could all tear small pieces of paper with don't buy fuel fool and stick them on the nails. Better yet, I know we are screwing you on the gas price, but we need more and have tire services that can get you going for some more cash. The best part would be to see the lot get jammed with vehicles with flat tires. Now this would work and be a perfectly legitimate breakdown.

Maybe what we need is just a good old fashioned protest at all state capitols at the same date and time. No trucks or cars just everyone on foot with protest signs. If we could get the American driver and truckers and citizens united to help us cordinate that would be awsum. That would make some noise and some news..... What do you all think?

I agree with the state capitol's on foot idea. I have suggested to all I was dealing with when we talked about organizing each state that this would be the type of action needed to convey a message of strength to our government - as well as the world. It is an excellent plan, but reality is it will take some time to organize individuals from each state. This is what my brother and I are still pursueing...organizing every state.
