Very true. The good ole truck enforcement folks have a field day during this time of year.

Pete's been on the road this week and last week (home for the weekend), he knew about the event but hasn't been given any big hassles, I mean he's been bothered worse during the "non-events". But then, he's pretty nit-picky about EVERYTHING on the truck, from lights, to straps, to gages, even how it looks, figuring if it don't look like it's going to fall apart they are less likely to pull you over for no reason...

went thru AR. last night and the scale on 30 just west of little rock, you know the one thats never open, well guess what the were open and had about 20 dot inspectors in there that were working their asses off hammering the trucks, thankfully I went thru when there wasn't any more room to park a truck so I got thru unscathed but there was a lot of moaning and groaning on the cb, there was also several service people there and a few tow trucks and they were making a killing, one guy got popped for low tires and it cost him 225 bucks to have the service guy fill them up
I didn't believe him until he showed me the bill!!!

Something like this amazes me. Not because the guy got ticketed for it, but because he was running around with low air pressure in his tires. This shows me a guy that wakes up, jumps in his truck, and doesn't look at anything before driving his truck. I can see 1 tire being low, but if there are multiple, that just tells people you aren't paying attention to your equipment.

I got pulled in friday in Tn. 60 miles west of knoxville, in one of them scale houses with out the house and never open.

they did a level three, and dipped my tanks.

I got to talking with them and I ask them just how many truckers the caught with bad logs, and they said they figure about 10%,now I just cannot understand drivers not doing their logs right during the 72 hr push, but here is something even more amazing, they had already ticketed 7 trucks for running dyed fuel and it was only 11 in the morning, they told me that the fines were 2000 to the state, 2000 to the feds and 10 bucks a gallon for however many gallons you truck holds in my case 200 gallons, that is 6000 bucks it don't pay to run off road fuel, and they told me that they were going to be doing a lot more dipping this year.
