I'm not sure if anybody actually listens to the driver anymore, they seem to think some suit with a college degree, who has never been over the road or even behind the wheel would know what is better for us then we do
Well, we had their ear. I hope we presented well, and, they really heard what was being said.

Iowa Listening Session Allows Drivers to Speak Up
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's fourth and final listening session on the hours of service rule was focused on hearing insights from drivers themselves on what the agency should do. The session, held Thursday in Davenport, Iowa, drew drivers and owner-operators alike from all corners of the Midwest, and could accommodate drivers because it was held near a Flying J truckstop.
"This is our first chance to be closer to the driving community by being next door to one truckstop," said Anne Ferro, FMCSA administrator, who kicked things off at the session. "I'm learning every day about the stresses that drivers face in their daily jobs, 24/7."
Ferro also opened by reiterating the FMCSA's safety priorities and the importance of this particular rule. "I'm preaching to the choir when I say that," she said.

i dont think thell change anything because of what a driver says. its like argueing with a cop, hes always right.
great post exellent link. i myself would like to be able to take a 2 hr break/nap without it affecting my 14 im sure other drivers feel the same
I'm with boone and diehard FMCSA won't listen wo the excellent suggestions from the drivers.Their mind is already made up.Them actually listening to us is like the trucking companies listening to us.We are just robots behind the wheel.
Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you.......
Now I'm sure most of you will blast me for this but this is what I have been feeling lately.
Too many of the new drivers who came into the industry after they to some part distroyed there own, Has now proceded to distroy the trucking industry. You kiss butt with know care or worry as to what you are doing.
I never thought about that luna, are alot of accidents caused by the new drivers as to why all the rules, regs and many new laws coming out daily?
I belive so, I don't think any statistics have been made known as too how many drivers in the last 2 years have been involved in accidents caused by reckless.
Look accidents happen to the best of them but how many new drivers let's say within the first 4-6 months from being cut loose are.
The laws and new regulations could have alot to do with this. Out with the old in with the new. But we will never know...........
You know when I first started driving,I did'nt know everything about the road like all these new drivers seem to know these days.I never paid attention to all the signs and traffic. It was hell out here for me.I think all drivers with less then a yrs exp should have have certain rules.Mny of the veteran drivers know the biz know the laws ect.Why should this affect them. Then they're talking about governing trks to 65,WHAT A JOKE.That law should apply to the new drivers till he or she gets the exp. When I first started driveing 65 was plenty fast enough for me.Sometimes too fast. But now I don't know how I would handle a 65 or less trk.
