Started as a student driver in 2006, and went OTR after training.

Very positive experience, overall. Most people's complaints with different companies on this forum is down time waiting for freight. Though I have not been with other companies to compare, I can say I was delayed twice in 2 years driving with Schneider: once for about 3 hours, and another time had to take 10 hour break because no freight available.

Simply put, Schneider has the freight and you typically get your next load dispatched about an hour away from your current load's delivery location.
Each board has their own dispatcher, and you are allowed/encouraged to talk with him/her!

I live in SE Virginia, and that qualifies me a $0.04/mile "geographic location" adjustment pay. Per diem pay is offered also.

In many cases, a job is what you make of it. Good to see you are making the best of it.

They do a great job: I think they purposely stress you during training to see if you can handle it!

Absolutely agree.

Don't get me wrong, it's not all fun and roses out there. I've had bad/short loads - relay a load 100 miles, etc. But, overall, Schneider's pretty good.

Congrats! Solo is the only way to go as far as I am concerned. Too hard to sleep in a moving truck....

I agree; I have hard time sleeping as it is; can't imagine trying to sleep while someone else is driving. I know the pay is higher, but at what ultimate "price?"

Team pay is LESS yet supposedly the Team covers more miles: some do, some don't.
The side pay (ldg, unldg, [multiple] p/u, stops, etc..) offered to Solo Drivers is basically the same for Teams, yet split.
There are Teams that a Solo Driver can run circles around at every company that has Teams and there are Teams that seemingly never stop for very long.
Solo is the only deal for me as well but not at Schneider or any of the other big companies.
I'm glad you are capable of maintaining your Career there and I hope you remain for quite some time!!
