Looking for first-hand knowledge from those that are still with the companies that they wouldn't mind recommending. I've looked at the DAC report on most of the companies I've been considering and there is something good and bad on just about all of them. I've been considering Schneider (heard their pay is pretty low for beginners though), Crete, England, Stevens Transport, Swift and a few others.

Can anyone lend some good advice to a beginner? I've been in an office job for about 10 years and have been wanting to get out and start this career for about the past 5 years. I'm excited but want to start out right with a company that I can stay with for good while.

Thanks for all that respond!!

The companies I have heard the best comments on for new drivers have been Roehl, Crete, and Schneider.

My husband drives for Roehl and I am about ready to go out with my trainer for them this Friday. As far as we are concerned Roehl has been good to us.

I considered Roehl, and other than a few comments, I have heard mostly good things about them.

Good luck getting started!
