Or better yet - what % is the company you work for operate on and then your% cut. When I started this, the price was the price, until I seen one day I had a partial that paid $400. When I delivered, the receiver was so upset about what he had paid to get this saw, he confronted me about highway robbery. Needless to say the broker got this job done for $1750. Yep that was one expensive phone call. After getting seasoned in this I have become far more selective in my work ethics. I have people calling me and asking if this is my best price. MY ANSWER NO - THIS IS NOT MY BEST PRICE NEITHER IS IT MY WORST PRICE - ITS MY ONLY PRICE. I find this upsets brokers like C H Robinson who call all the time and keep getting the same answer from us. There is a word that has become famous and used most of the time around here. NO it has one less letter than yes and is easier to say. Lil Trout I hope you are sincere about you said, I know one thing here, we have a few good brokers that we work with and they know when the contract is signed, they have no worry about it getting there on time and in damage free condition.

    My friend,

I work on an hourly basis and I hate my job simpy because I feel as though I have to "lie" to people just to move a load, but I am sick and tired of trying to sound like a god damn telemarketer calling people just to try to sell a magazine or something.

    I am through! **** it!

If someone can make a connection in TexASS then so be it, but I refuse to offer any more loads...especially to owner/ops who risk their livlihood just to deadhead closer to home.

it makes me feel like **** for earning a buck and you guys are busting your asses and living on the road just to make ends meet.

The question is ????? All you drivers want to know how we can together stop the fuel trucks???? The way that you stop the fuel trucks is take the Pilots, Love's, TA's, Petro's and any other truck stop not mention. Everyone take their truck to a truck stop near you get in it as close and as tight as you can all the way into the street both way waiting to get in. Once the truck stop is full, no one can get in and no one can get out. This goes for company trucks and o/o's alike. If they can get in or out then everyone has to stop. Not only trucks but your family cars on the front. Then the fuel trucks can't get in and they are shut down also.

the best way is to not buy any fuel. Its a good idea but I think the station owners would get the law involved

Lil Trout, just post the loads. When an operator calls on it just be polite and truthful. If its the company you work for trying to screw us, no big deal, it is our decision to take or leave. If you are honest with the drivers they will respect you more. Don't throw a job away, make it right for everyone. Now if the boss doesn't like it, you could post his firm and let others know what he is doing may be on the shaky side. If he losses his work, he is out of business. Good brokers can make money, crooked ones now make allot at our expense due to the times. This will all change shortly

Shuting down means NOT BUY FUEL!!!! Just Think " 1000 trucks a day @ 100 gallons per truck ='s 100, 000 gallons. $ 4.00 per gallons='s $ 400,000.00 DOLLARS " That is alot of cash for fuel & oil sellers to loose in sales.

I am parked also. A fellow called me awhile ago and asked if I would haul logs for him this week. I told him I had to have at least .25 cents a ton mile. He said G-D !!! Thats twice what I'm getting to put it on the truck. I said, then you need to park like the rest of us are next week. To the devil with hauling for nothing !!
