Hi everyone. I have just signed up on the forum and wanted to intro myself. My hub and I team drive and have been talking with Conway/CFI about joining their team. Thought we would check out some different forums for information of any kind. We have been driving together for a year now, but hub has been driving solo much longer than that. I enjoy OTR and do not think I could sit behind a desk anymore. Anyway, like I said, just an intro about me and look forward to comunicating with all of you.

Hi Parrot,

Good name. We need parrot-types to keep helping us get the word out across the Country about the August 27th Protest. How is that for throwing you right in there and welcoming you. Roll up your sleeves, dear. We are on a mission over the rip off gas prices. Print flyers and distribute or take out an ad locally - low cost, if you can.

I don't drive professionally, only limos in the past, hardly close to a big rig, I could take corners and offramps without much slowing down, though! (j/k, sort of.) The elderly/seniors have a lot of my fervor, then those who drive for a living, etc. The seniors are pretty scared and helpless, and I find it repulsive and sinful that this occurs in America!

MOMENTUM...P.S. Welcome, I hope you come back and can help!

Well Mr. Martin, I was posting this to welcome you and your wife to the "TruckersForum". After reading your preceeding post to Len, I will say welcome to you both and I suggest you might want to appologize to Len for your rudeness. What you said and how you said it to her was totally uncalled for. She hadn't said or did anything derogatory against you or anyone else here. In fact she has become one of the hardest working people on this forum trying to get changes made in this country. Changes for both the senior citizens and truckers alike. I don't know what it was that caused you to strike out at her for no apparent reason, but you owe her an appology. Enjoy your time here on the TruckersForum, and I hope you and your wife have An Awesome Evening.

I do have the right to speak for the trucking industry. And the senior's And if that offended her well I sorry. Danny

PS Also Why the protest ? Any good o/o or driver can make good buck if they just get out and work. I know several O/O making good money trucking. One happens to be my son. $2.50 to 3.00 a mile. It's these O/O leased to these cheap a-s company's that pocketing all the money.
Several company drivers are driving for 30 to 40 cents a mile and the company's being paid big buck's. It's simple just don't work for them cheap a_s's there is company's paying good money so just do your shopping. like Heartland express 0.50 mile Fedex is hiring teams. Hey my wife drives a 6 wheeler hauling US mail and makes $1400.00 a week and home everyday. What I'm saying is do your home work.

I only have one more suggestion. Please take some time and read back through the threads and the posts on this Forum before you pass judgement on the people that have been here and are participating in the fight we are waging here to try and get some beneficial changes made. Again, your hostilities against Len are completely uncalled for and unwarranted. I too am a Senior, as well as an Independent O/O for over 40yrs. with more miles than I care to count. I don't feel that gives me the right to tell someone else that is fighting for the same things I am to go home and in a sense just be quiet because you have know idea what you are talking about....You're dead wrong Mr. Martin. Just apologize and get on with enjoying the Forum.

Nice.

A new member shows up and automatically gets recruited to join a protest that they weren't even here to discuss. Let's keep the August 27th event in the trucking industry issues forum. Those that are interested in it can find the information easily enough.

A thread like this is exactly what happens when you post about it outside the area where people "want" to discuss it.

Let's play nice here in the sandbox and maybe people like "parrot" will actually want to stick around.
