Hi all first post,

My father is a 25 year truck driving veteran and he came up with a really neat invention making pulling the Tandem pin alot safer, it's called Coamito it uses a spring to keep tension on the pin so when you move your trailer it pops the pin.

Coamito Homepage

What do you all think?

It looks like an excellant idea to me...I think everyone who pulls a trailer with sliding tandems should have one in the sidebox. I wish I would have had one years ago. Keep up the good work, Have An Awesome Holiday

Make one out of a 2 inch ratchet strap and a spring. Good idea though.

I think all the old trailers that require you to have the pin in a perfect spot and force you to rely on brute strength to pull against 100% of the spring pressure should taken to a recycling center and crushed

I had one I got from TA. It is a pring that hooks to the trailer pull bar and you then attach to the side of the trailer. Then pull spring tight and lock it down. Rock tandems, usually works pretty good.

Bought the last one in 2003 for about 30.00.

What TA was that? I have been watching for something like this. Even Walcott didnt have them. Until I find something better I will use tarp straps and vice grips. It works for both the really old trailers where you lift up on the pin lever, and the ones where you pull the lever towards you.
