Rumor USA & US Xpress routing 100's of trucks to terminals for shut down

    Rumor.

I just got through reading 100's of USA trucks routed back to terminals and drivers given a Christmas bus ticket home.

US Express is offing drivers l/o, or team driver jobs, or quit or be fired.

I didn't see any rumor forum so I put the info here.

The following is added 12/21/08 1:20 pm, from my post below to:

"....USA Truck is routing "hundreds" into their terminals with no prior warning, parking/disabling trucks, and either laying them off or firing them for anything. They are giving them a "Greyhound" for Xmas, though! This is strictly rumor at this point... no confirmation on Landline or the company website."

"A thread on that other board also says that US Xpress is routing solo drivers to terminals and giving them 3 choices to choose from 1.They lease the truck they are in and become an O/O or 2. They go team with another solo or 3. They quit without any bus ticket. "

    What?

What kinda treads do you expect to pop up?

Ya, when I see some happy news about trucking I'll write about it! Oh, there is happy news as it applies to trucking, you can probably get a truck cheap.

Maybe you can report to us some happy news as it pertains to trucking. How many companies and jobs have you heard of starting up?

LOL. Just thought it was interesting to be hearing this about large companies. Not really much more to add to it until we know more regarding whether this is actually happening, or if it is in fact just a rumor.

I was too sleepy when I seen the thread to go investigate and see if there is anything to this or not.

Has anybody heard anything more on this?

Haven't heard, nor have I found anything yet. I visited their website and they are still giving the impression they are ok as a company. But then that is the bs way these companies handle themselves...company first - truckers last.

It is said that USA is a public company so we should know Monday. I'm guessing that they will have to tell the public on Monday. But Lehman Brothers constantly lied about there business until the day they went broke! I can't see why USA would be any different, lying has become the way of life for business and our government. I think we will have to look to drivers feed back to get the truth!

The rumor came over the weekend. This morning I've gone to USA Truck & US Express website's, and there is no indication of drivers being returned to terminal's. Their job training and applications are still in place on their websites.

Has anyone heard anything on this?
