    I Need a Lawyer

I was involved in an accident last week in California. A woman did major damage to my truck, and she was totally at fault. I have some injuries and am looking for a good attorney to take my case, anyone have any suggestions. Keep in mind i live in Florida and the accident happened in California. any help would be greatly appreciated

First off, hope your injuries aren't too serious.

Can't help on attorneys, but until you find one, write down any specific information you have about this wreck so you DON'T forget it, and keep a close eye on how the fault of this wreck is officially determined. Doesn't matter what is said at the scene of the accident in California.

I have one "preventable accident" on my record, and it is the result of a wreck in California where I was totally not at fault, but the report ended up stating word for word what the driver of the car said. I didn't know about it until well after the fact when one of those stupid court shows in California were calling me and trying to get me to go on TV for the "additional money" that the driver of the car was suing for.

Best of luck in the overall outcome of this.

She was totaally at fault and there were witnesses to the accident that stated what happened. She lost control of her vehicle 5 lanes away from me

make sure you get a copy of the police report, fast.
call your insurance company and ask them what to do.

Hope you took pictures of everything. Get copies of written statements from all the witnesses. Definitly get a copy of police report.

Posted about my situation here quite a while back, but in my situation, I had eye witnesses as well. Car tried to pass me on the right hand shoulder, and as the shoulder narrowed, the care became trapped between my trailer tandems and the guardrail, virtually destroying the car.

Witnesses somehow never could be contacted (all this was according to the insurance company that the trucking company I drove for used), and rather than give me a heads up on any of this, they simply paid off the other driver and moved on.

You gotta watch California closely, I learned the hard way.

That's crazy. Why would a trucking company pay off somebody that was at fault.Probably did'nt want to go thru the headach of a lawyer and court.

You almost answered your own question. They saved alot of money by just paying it off. Paying off the car owner was much easier and less of a headache.

I believe the term is "nuisance value" a company's favorite word to get rid of a problem fast.
