    Kenworth going out of business???

I heard a crazy rumor today … Kenworth is going out of business. My dealer mentioned that they wont be at MATS this year and that they had cancelled their concert. I also heard their not doing any advertising in truck magazines. At first I thought this was just a money saving measure, but it looks like their cutting tons of expenses to keep from bankrupt. I wonder if their next for the bailout

    Oh, God. NOOOO !!!

American companies are dropping like flies, thanks to job's moving over seas to the enemy, CHINA.

I'm predicting the Dow Jones, the stock market, will drop to 4,000 with in the next year unless we have a major energy progam and protect our countrymen and jobs BY STOPPING THEM FROM GOING OVER SEAS, and more importantly we must make our own produces or we are SUNK.
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

This is very interesting. Wouldn't jump to any conclusions though. KW is one of the big ones in our industry. I would actually expect to see mergers or buyouts before any of the big truck manufacturers would close doors. Pretty much like White in the 80's.

This would be a very odd development, as Kenworth is a subsidiary of PACCAR.

Also, Kenworth just announced less than a week ago, that they are extending their repate programs with OOIDA and Landstar through 2009.

They also just finished doing some pretty extensive redesigns on the T2000, adding GPS and other driver electronics into the dash.

Not going to say it "isn't" happening, but I would lean toward not believing this rumor. Anything is possible though.
