    OK Here I Am

O.K. I guess it is about time to divulge my whereabouts, but I seriously doubt anyone would really care. But, if someone besides myself and my dispatcher would like to know, here I am.

Today I sit at the Flyin' Hook in Tulsa, OK waiting for a load. I had a load to go to Montreal, QC, Canada that should have loaded out Wednesday but it first was delayed 'till Thursday and then cancelled altogether.

Darn, I have never been to Montreal and was looking forward to going there even though the weather sucks up that way right now.

Dispatch messaged me a little while ago and asked if I got loaded this evening could I make it to Renton, WA by Monday. I quickly checked the traffic cams along the route and the NOAA weather forcasts and told them that I probably could if the weather holds off a little bit.

The load is supposed to be a dedicated team run so they are checking if it would be OK to use a lowly solo driver like me. My dispatcher did give me a compliment though, she said I was a hard runner and knew I could get the job done.

Cool. It is nice to know extra effort if noticed and appreciated.

Anyway, that is where I am today. Maybe I will try to keep this updated when I am in places I can get a signal for the wireless air card.

    Hammer down driver!

    Tulsa to Renton, WA

Couple thousand mi. by Mo. sounds like a tough run solo in a couple days time. Take care. I'd like to find an o/o I could team w/. Wouldn't cost much, I'd work for the experience. Prospects look pretty dim for getting a seat here in MI, everybody I talk to is either not looking for drivers or is looking for ones w/ a couple years experience.

Well after loads being delayed and loads being canceled I finally got something today headed for Seattle. Wing slats and flaps for the Boeing 787, and spare parts for the out of production 767. Light load, only about 10,000lbs, so I hope it doesn't snow on my way through Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Made it as far as Limon, CO today and hope to be in Bozeman, MT tomorrow night. If all goes well weather wise I should be in North Bend, WA at the TA Monday evening ready to swoop into Seattle Tuesday morning and make 2 drops and then head home to Arlington.

Look me up if you are in any of these places.

Blue Volvo SPD with an XTRA Lease curtain van (covered in salt!)

It is a hot load so I'll be in the hammer lane all the way!

    datta way

Oh, surprised you're going that way. I haven't run those lanes in a truck though, only via my motorcycle and only a few times. Less mountainous to head up to 90 instead of out on 80? Looks like snow Monday in the Idaho mountains but not heavy. You should be alright. That load will pull well on upgrades at least and won't push you too bad on downgrades. Looks like more snow coming in Mon. nite and Tues. but you'll be through there by then.

i guess you missed the reports about our 40 celsius weather this summer. That coverts to 104 degrees F. and that was the month of july and part of august. then it cooled down to the high 70's to low 80's for the rest of summer and part of the fall.
