It amazes me how our youth can show such wisdom sometimes. Following is constructed by a teenager...a young individual able to identify what we all should...

You might be a liberal if you get sick and tired of people bothering you with facts!

Where are the expressions of outrage over the national debt? Debt nolonger seems to matters to many Americans. Debt certainly factored asan issue during the presidency of George W. Bush. Unfortunately theAmerican people have been scared into believing that this nation is ina hopeless mess, that because this is an emergency spending has nolimits, and that free enterprise and capitalism h ave failed.

Fearful of the freedom to make choices and the responsibility thatcomes with it, and captivated by rhetoric that spoke of hope and changeand the promise of a free lunch, 52.7% of the American voters, luredinto accepting that centralization of power under government can solveeconomic and societal problems better than capitalism under the freeenterprise system, elected Barack Obama as president last November.

This nation stands on the brink of a socialist abyss which could veryeasily morph into a full-blown socialist society, minus a despot. Weare becoming a "government with people" instead of a "people with agovernment" as envisioned by our founding Fathers and set forth in ournation's Constitution. Its people are becoming like sheep.

This country was founded on individual liberty and a self-reliantcitizenry with an entrepreneurial spirit. By restricting the resourcesof the American people to create, invest and achieve wealth under afree market, capitalist system, lost will be the survival instinctwhich served this nation so well in the past.

As America moves increasingly toward the undesirable and destructivenature of a socialist welfare state, it is well to remember the wisdomof Thomas Jefferson when he wrote: "Congress has not unlimited powersto provide for the general welfare but only those specificallyenumerated (in the Constitution)."

In 2009 the "general welfare" has come to mean to many Americans theright to have a college education, to have health care, to be employed,to be able to afford a house, etc. These rights are not enumerated inour Constitution. As such our nation's Constitution is being eroded andwith it our constitutional form of government. Sadly, most Americansseem not to care. They realize not that socialism has failed wheneverand wherever it has been tried.

We must now ask ourselves exactly what are we going to hand onto this next generation...a great nation intact with our constitutional freedoms?...or a socialistic society? Are we going to be the generation which allowed the destruction of our constitutional freedoms? Or are we going to be the generation which brought our great nation out of the depths of despair and restored her to her rightful place in this world?

Safe Trails and God Bless,
