Good day for me today. First thing out of the gate, I volunteered to take my Air Brake test then my walk around inspection test. Huge accomplishment for me being this test required me to know quite a few parts of the truck and engine that I had to name off and tell what your suppose to look for. Aced the Air Brake test and only missed 8 from the inspection. AWESOME!

Not much to report about day 6 except that we spent most of the day working on our Air Brake Test and Walk around inspection. For me the Brake test was a brazer as soon as I figured out what each test was for and what caused what. Were short handed instructors this day as well but we were kinda on our own with it. However the walk around inspection of the vehicle is something else for me. As I'm no gear head and seeing the engine, brakes, suspension, tires, hoses bla bla bla on down the line...

Most of the morning was spent going over yard rules and again filling out the log book. One of the instructors spent about an hour going over the pre inspection and what needs to be done for that test. Very overwhelming to me, I'm not a gear head like some of the class so seeing the engine and having to locate and check for hoses and steering linkage parts to suspension assemblies areas to point out down to the trailer and back..

also got to get in a tractor today and get a feel...

Well today was pretty much a mission to go down to the dmv with the group of us and take our permit test and our shuttle driver got lost picking us up. Which made us 2 hours late. And by that time the DMV was going at full force. I mean the line was going out the door. Was CRAZY. Huge waiting area for people with numbers. Over 15 windows to help people. Like waiting to get on a ride at Disneyland with no FastPass... and no ride! Well after getting my number called the rest went pretty well....

Hey all, finally got my blog up and going here...(Thanks bullwinkle!!) wanted to talk about how things are going and my experience with this company and new career.

They bused me down to Riverside, CA which was well.. a grayhound bus ride that went for over 12 hours. They have put me up in a pretty decent Hotel with a roomate.

Its been 3 days since we started and really all we've done is spent a whole day filling out paperwork and doing different screenings......
